I didn't think the RNG was used at all I just thought it was some subtraction of:
Power - Contact if not on the sweet spot
or
Power - Contact * (distance from sweet spot)
I'm almost positive the second is correct. I think this is correct, except I didn't think distance from sweet spot was part of it. I thought it was 1) sweet spot or 2) not the sweet spot. What is RNG used for then? Trajectory? I think you're correct - contact is all or nothing based on batter/ball position. The random number generator determines the power of the hit, I think, with the power rating serving as a sort of seed or baseline or something.
