TBT vs Chad. My arch nemesis from these parts. I won the coin flip so i would be home and pick 1st in games 1-2-5-7. It was a 7 game set (not best of 7)
Game 1.
TBT-BOS Chad-DET.
I got up early thanks to a 3 run shot by gedman and kept applying the runs winning 8-5. Chad would pull within a run or so, then i'd counter with a couple more. I didnt pitch so hot here, but also when i got a pretty good sized lead, im also challenging hitters a bit morem, and going right after them more aggressively.
TBT-CAL Chad-NY. I managed to retire the 1st 9 hitters, and took an early lead, and cruised to a 6-1 victory. chad had about seemingly 14 mets hit ground ball outs in a row...kinda funny as noone could hit for shit during the middle stretch of the game.
TBT-MIN Chad-SF.
I hate batting against Krukow...that man is sick. Trailing 3-0 i made a run and got back into the game late, but suffered 4 straight outs to donnie moore somewhere in the middle innings (good gamble by chad as he faced the scrubs). I had a shot late as i got some pinch hits in the 8th with smalley and davidson, but couldnt put much together.
TBT-Hou Chad-STL.
A billy hatcher dong in in the 3rd or so got me on the board. Coleman who got on base every fucking time he came to plate scored the tying run around the 7th or 8th inning. i walked clark 4 or 5 times, and in the 11th got a Homer by Cruz to take the lead in the top half. Kerfeld got me a soplid 3 2/3 to start the game, and after Nolan ran out of gas, Scott's sinker paved the way in some tough spots.
TBT-Det Chad-Bos.
More of the same here, as I took a 1-0 lead in the 1st and then managed to pump out enuf offence to really keep things outta hand. Today was really going my way. I win 6-3.
TBT-SF Chad-CAL.
Finally i got to be krukow and was nasty as hell, but he ran out of gas a bit too early and Rueschel failed me. leading 2-0 in the 2nd or 3rd inning, it was all down hill from there. I drop this one 3-2. Chad got about 6 innings outta Witt. I had plenty of opportunities on mistake pitches by chad late, but just seemed to foul them all off right down the line.
TBT-NY Chad-MIN
After a strawberry dong I took a 5-0 lead in the 3rd and chad decided that enuf was enuf for the day as he was down 5-0. orosco got me 3 innings with great ease, as i challenged pretty much every batter except Hrbek and Bruno.
so I take the 7 game set 5-2. not a bad rebound from my play 2 weeks ago.
overall i found a chink in chad's pitching armor and was able to expose this with my landslide of runs in the 1st couple games, and the trend seemed to continue for the most part. as for the other aspects, i did a pretty good job at taking pitchers out at the right times and also got lucky as many of the teams weaker parts didnt hurt me. also started to really utilize the drop ball to get some seriously huge outs. as for the arms race as i call it, i was able to stay ahead of chad with my pitch counts and such.
Booya! im back at the triple A RBI level. ;D
How does Vince Coleman get on base against you? I'll go on record in saying that Vince/Ozzie/Pettis can only get on base against me maybe 1 out of 20 times.
But seriously, do you give up infield singles to Vince or is it legit hits?

So how was Donnie Moore involved in the SF Minn game?
He's an angel in the outfield
vince fkn coleman hit 10 ground balls in the hole to short stop all night....fkn bastard. thats how. all sorts of cheap ass bullshit hits.
See, I don't get this. If you pitch almost exlusively inside to guys like Coleman there's no way they should be able to hit it opposite field.

Was this a joke on him being dead or him playing for the Angels? Because if the former, it's pretty good. If the latter, on the other hand...

chad does not use the tettleton, so that might have something to do with him hitting weak grounders the other way on occasion. coleman only hit one ball solid all night, a rip down the 1st base line for a double. everything else was weakly hit to short.

I find this statement to be nonsense. Just because the pitch is inside doesn't mean I can't fight one off and put it in the hole.
To Vince, I tend to, for the most part, start on the third base side of the mound and then drive it inside, nobody has ever hit a Pettis when I've done that.
I would think the Lefty Hit would also be an option for Coleman, although that requires that you somehow got your pitcher or Pena on base.

Attez...you pretty much play exclusively with Octo, correct? Perhaps you're talking of his style of play more than anything else, 'cause I agree with fknmclane--it isn't overly difficult to inside out a pitch through the 3b/ss hole.
Yup, just wait until it's in on the hands and get it past the pitcher and Vince takes care of the rest.
So if I understand this correctly, what you guys are saying is, Octo sucks
Good recap and strategy discussions. Still am curious how Donnie Moore got involved though...

you guys are bastards. :( and worse of all, donnie moore recorded 3 or 4 straight outs a K and a few groundouts. that fucker always gets hammered when i use him.
But the Donnie Moore recap was listed in the Minn-SF game

No--I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that perhaps Attezz has Coleman figured out with Octo at the helm. That sometimes happens when you play one person over and over and over. I'm guessing there's quite the head game going on, and currently, Attezz is winning it (when Coleman is up, anyway). I know for a fact that Octo is a good player (I've played him online).
