I'd like to hear any analysis and predictions that you guys have. I like my team. I think I have the best balance, although some of the other teams have more big sluggers.
I'm still pissed at myself for not grabbing Whitaker to open round 2... GDavis' middle infielders kick the rest of our butts, and I think that may be the difference in the league, since the computer doesn't pinch hit like a human player. I am pleased with my team overall, though - there aren't a lot of stars, and the pitching isn't all that great, but I think there's enough talent there that they'll be competitive.
Who better than VGP100?
Nobody.
vgp, if your team can win the title despite having to roster the pitiful Robby Thompson that will indeed be impressive.
Yeah, but this way I'll be the only one with no votes, so then when I do win, it'll be a triumph for the underdog.
Bobby Thompson will be the MVP of team VGP.
Thompson will probably be taken out by the 5th inning anyway. Top to bottom--VGP is #1.
I might be slightly biased though.

By the way GDavis, this project/series of posts has been awesome - I'm gonna hold off on posting any more of my "All-Time Team" polls, so it doesn't divide anyone's attention.
Keep up the all-time threads dude. It's probably gonna take awhile before I figure out how to schedule it and do the ROMs and stuff. I've never made a ROM before so if anyone has any suggestions or comments or wants to do it for me let me know.
Thanks for volunteering! We might as well use our initials for team names unless someone wants theirs to be different.

I dunno how big the files will be, but if they're too big to email then hopefully Gantry or Nightwulf would give up some server space for us to put the ROM up on so we could download it from one of their sites.
Order doesn't matter cuz we'll be simulating the games one at a time.
Other slots can be whatever you want. If leaving them blank is the easiest go with that.
I'll go with classic 'Stros. Orange and Blue, white players.
You have the best starters. Not sure about Robinson though. But who knows how many innings the last reliever will end up pitching anyway.
As for where to put the ROM, dvldog, you could just post it on the boards - the size limit for attachments is pretty high, and RBI ROMs are small.
I want my team to wear red with white bats. Green skin would be cool, although not necessary.
I'm wondering how the games are gonna work. Are they strictly watch mode where the pitchers go their typical innings and PHs only get in for substitutions at the end? Or am I just asking extremely stupid questions and am not up to date as to what you guys are trying to do?
Yeah, it's strictly watch mode, so we have no control over the computer's substitutions or anything. This makes the first starter more important, since he goes the most innings (usually 5, although sometimes he comes out after 4), and the computer uses PHs in order as well, so the last one will probably never play. Also, the computer never pinch hits for any position players except the guy in the 8-spot, and even that is only late in the game.
