RECAP
What a way for VG to earn his first win. Facing the 10-run rule in the 7th, he came alive with 4 runs. His team scored 9 runs in the final 2 innings, while giving up only 2.
The top of the 7th was big for GJ. The pitcher led off with a groundout, but Ozzie, DeCinces, and Puckett followed it up with back-to-back-to-back homeruns. Anytime Ozzie hits one, you know your pitcher is dead.
VG's 8th inning won put him in the game. He batted around, with singles and doubles. Sullivan pinch-hit for Burks to make the final out - what a move.
In the bottom of the ninth, VG was down 14-15 and had Coleman on third. Stawberry hit a grounder to first - and BOP! - Straw reached by a half step and Coleman scored the tying run. Evans then singled Stawberry to third, and Pendleton followed with the game-winning RBI. So, far the best game I have done.
5 errors?? unacceptable! I'm taking the ping pong table and the stereo out of the clubhouse so we can focus solely on baseball. >:(
