Definate hall of shame

Looks like somebody blew all their earnings.
Man, what happened?
The article never said if he (indeed) had a gun though.
The penalty will be significantly less if he did not have a gun.
the man had a 90+ heater. God gave him guns at birth.
GIVE HIM THE CHAIR!

"Lt. David O'Neill said Reardon
did not have a gun and offered no resistance when he was handcuffed."
In Stock's defense, much of the link has been edited, there is now a lot of new info that wasn't there originally, including the stuff about the gun, plus a current picture, and the info about his son's death and his medication.
They updated the photo to one that would most likely not appear on a baseball card.
I doubt he will get any real jail time for this.
The dollar amount is very low, and he obviously had no intent to cause any harm.
Although, I could see the clerk sue him for emotional distress.
I was just making sure that the correct information is highlighted, not saying anything about Stock.
Dolt.
The article mentioned that he has been taking anti-depressants since his son died in 2004. Anyone know what happened to his son?

Reardon now looks like a fat hick that hunts

The article on SI.com says that his son died of a drug overdose.

Anti-depressand meds?
and he's clearly the last option on Mn. if you've got to get someone out in a key spot...berenger is clearly the go to guy. maybe that has something to do with it? you know a grown bearded man who suddenly thinks he can rob jewelry stores without a gun. or maybe its the thing with his son.
now i'm depressed...
I routinely pitch seven innings with Reardon, giving up less than three runs.
that article takes a humorous twist if you read it with the assumption that "Beers" is the personification of an actual bottle of beer reporting the mishap.

This post takes a humorous twist if you read it with the assumption that TBG is dilbert. Well OK, maybe it's still not that humorous.

Wrong thread. The "Outrageous Claims" thread is in the Anything Goes forum...

Not against Octo, I hope.
You'd be surprised how effective Reardon can be. When using Minny I usually go a rotation of "Blyleven/Reardon" and Viola is saved until it's absolutely necessarry, as Twins games tend to be very low scoring extra innings a fair.
Perfect matchup, Twins/Mets.
I'm a huge fan of RBI Reardon--but I respect Octo's game too much to believe that you could use Reardon for 7 innings and not get your ass handed to you.
So again, I say to you:

Yes, against Octo. Although we haven't played for quite a while.
How can you respect Octo's game? Have you ever played him in person? You haven't even played me in person, and I believe among the few games you've seen me play have included a no hitter through seven innings.
I've played you both online (remember, I am limited to the online version as well when we play). I also played you the night before the tourney--before the heavy drinking began.
Note that I didn't say that I don't respect your game. I respect my own game, yet I wouldn't claim I can regularly go 7 deep with Reardon vs. Riley. That's strictly a commentary on the opposition's game--not the one who uses Reardon.
I don't remember playing you in C-Bus (not that I doubt it, I just don't remember much of that weekend). But, typically when I'm using the Twins he was using the Mets, I also shut out Bandur for 8 innings with Dayley in the tourney.

This would be the point where Strassy chimes in with taunts that he pitched a complete game win against me with Charlie Kerfeld, so I will preempt him by just mentioning it now.
i once shut out nacho with charlie kerfeld. he pitched all nine innings. therefore i believe atttezzboall's claim.

Deifnitely a weird one, he's been added to the Hall of Shame (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/hallofshame.shtml#REARDON). Poor, poor Reardon...

Mental illness truly is a bitch - I got a buddy who is extremely bipolar and there is pretty much nothing outside of medicating him to vegetableness that seems to help him. Sucks sucks sucks...

medicating him to vegetableness
he could still be good at straight pitch
