Gentlemen:
I've been neglecting the site too long, and I'm pledging to make January 1st, 2004 the day of dee-nee. Assuming I'm not too hung over (this is my last Diet Mountain Dew before I hit the Coronas until sleepytime), I tend to spent 6-8 hours working on the site. Tasks in mind:
1) Revamp all the team reviews, especially the ones Potsie made. I'll probably rewrite all of those, they are outdated and lack info.
2) Add 5-10 FAQ questions. Definitely more questions and longer answers on online play, emulators for non PCs, the field length etc. If you have any questions think should be added to the FAQ, post them here. Anything will do, I just want more quantity.
3) Dee-Nee RBI videos! I got my video capture card working, and I haev about 5 hours of footage from this years qualifying tourney. It's a straight recording of the NES during the tourney, so I hope to make some videos of a BOP, run-in technique, perhaps a glitch or bad plays. The quality sucks, but it'll be good to figure out.
4) At least one more RBI Legend page - I'm thinking Steve Lake since I consider him to be the worst player in the game.
So if all goes well, I'll devote the entire day to website work and forum posting...
If there's anything you think should be added to the site or revised, let me know. I'd especially like a few FAQ quesitons...
Dee-nEE! Go Gantry! I am well on my way after drinking 8 warsteiners the beam comes next. where is the 2%? i can't wait to wake up at 2pm tomorrow and start another year of dee-nee!
I'll definitely be adding a Steve Lake and Dave Bergman RBI Legend page, both are worthy. Be sure and list the FAQ questions people! And since I'll be on the PC all day, expect a lot of forum posts...
My mohawked RBI friend, I can't wait. Dee-nee! Oh yeah, did I mention I saw Rancid and Tiger Army for free? I'm crafty.
QuoteI'm crafty.
"And you're just my type" - note the quotes, don't read too much...
The mohawk is gone, did the buzz cut for a buddy's wedding. Very hard to comb down a poorly died mohawk with longish sides. Looked like I had a tail in back. Remember those? I had one circa 1988, mine would curl when it got too long...
Like Flea back in the old days?
She's crafty/she gets around.
Again, Gantry matches up with my stupid quotes and references.

Where did the terms "dee-nee" and "dah-nah" originate?
Listen to Potsie for dee nee, if I'm not mistaken. The dah nah came from Sucka I'm pretty sure but that's just speculation.
It'd make a good FAQ, I think.
Dah-Nah!! The day of Dee-Nee will be starting a little late, as I am royally hung over and apparently I'm going to do a playoff football draft shortly with Lips, Vit and Sperling....
I feel like ass...
And a FAQ question about deenee/dahnah is a good idea, thoguh they are in teh glossary...
I think that the main page should feature a giant label saying WARNING: It is dangerous and wrong to read or post if you have not read and understood the glossary!
Maybe the essentials should be on the front page - or a new page for essentials/info for new people... a suggestion
Gantry if you want to find a home for my rom rating how-to, feel free to add it to your site.

Awesome, Awesome site... I hope this is added in the reconstruction... not sure if it was on the links page or not.
Gantry, have you considered adding any pitcher rankings since all the players on the rankings page are postion guys.
The hangover is subsiding, twas quite the doozy. If anyone tells you drinking Jager out of the bottle is a good idea, smack them...
Awesome page maqruis, I'd love to add it to rbicentral and link it up. Still too cloudy in the head to read it all the way through, but I'll get to it shortly...
A starting page would be nice, need to figure out how to make it work though..
Gotta break up the FAQ into sections, it's too chaotic. Organization is key...
5:10pm and the first entry into the day of Dee-Nee is complete - What exactly is Dee-Nee? (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/faq.shtml#DEENEE)
You know it is odd that there were no repeat divisional winners in MLB from 86 to 87. I wonder how those tengen brainiacs would have handled team selection were that to have occured.
They'd use the same logic that gave Reggie a previous season's numbers to give ANA a better team.
Quite honestly I'm disappointed that Toronto didn't make the cut.
Mike
It would be nice to have Kelly Gruber in RBI...
Next new question is up - What other systems can I play RBI on? (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/faq.shtml#OTHERSYS) Someone rephrase that question for me, dont' think you're supposed to end a question with "on"
You're not suppose to end a sentence in a preposition.
On what systems can I play RBI?
Sound pretentious but is correct.
Mike
Changed it, thank you kindly....
Not following any paticular thread but I just had to finally join and express how great this site is. My NES crashed--too many RBI and Tecmo SuperBowl games-- in '95 and somehow I came to use Playstation and now PS2. Love my High Heat 2004 but this past Oct I was SERIOUSLY jonsing for NES RBI. Surfed the net adn came across the dee-nee site and LOVED IT. Seriously... read every link and even prined out the team pages BEFORE I GOT A NES SYSTEM. That's love, eh? Anyway. Ran out and bought a NES at a local store along with a few games. Including several baseball ones (R. Clemens, Bases Loaded, Baseball Simulator 1.000, Baseball Stars.) and of course, RBI baseball. Anyway, with the help of nightly espresso shots I've made RBI a bit of a habit. And of course I visit the site when I can. And I promise to do more of that in 2004... startign with tonight when I registered. Anyway. Here's a newbie showing his love for all that y'all do on the site.
Well said VEGAS, good to have you on board! There will be more updating of the main site in the upcoming months, there couldn't be much less...
My Day of Dee-Nee turned into about an hour of work. Added the two FAQ questions and branched it off into a few sections. But I guess it'll turn it into the "Extended Weekend of Dee-Nee"

Sorry bro, but DAH-NAH is defintly a chicago thing. Unfortunatly I cannot take credit for it :( Although I use it quite often...I too would like to know where it came from.
I'm actually a little sad that "Checkmate" didn't stick around. Maybe I'll try to revive it.
From the glossary page:
Dah Nah - The anithesis of Dee Nee, uttered whenever anything bad happens to you. Term originally coined by Jason Brand, who uttered it in a seriously butchered attempt to say Dee Nee. We found it so funny that it became the "anti Dee Nee" - sound byte available here (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/sounds/dahnah.wav).
Oh Gantry, don't to forget to add Justin Speier in the second generation RBI'ers.
Wow, never heard of Justin. Adding him now...
Speaking of Chris Spier...he was just offically named as the 2004 bench coach for the Oakland A's.
Beautfiul! Chris and Justin have been added to the watn page...
See my old post:

i totally missed that VGP....there's so much activity on the forums these dayus that its tough to keep up.
It's cool. Before that, I had no idea he had a son in the majors.
