Today, I've been working on updating the teams in Arcade RBI. A sort of "What have you done for me lately?" ROM. The rosters will include the best players on the 10 original teams from the years following the game's release up to the 2005 season.
I'm looking for the players who made the most significant contributions to their teams since 1988 without including any RBIers, whether arcade or NES.
This is what I have so far. It does seem like a "Best Of The 90s" edition, but there are a number of exceptions. The stats are AVG/HR/SB for hitters and ERA/IP/K for pitchers.

I welcome any & all suggestions and corrections.
Braves: Mark Lemke must be included,
Yankees: Girardi (or Leyritz) off the bench, Brosius off the bench, Wettleland instead of Farr (Yes, I realize that all these changes have to do with adding guys from 96-2000).
Other than that, awesome.
I initially didn't include Lemke because he doesn't make for a good RBIer, but he deserves it. But that allowed me to move Brian Jordan to the Cardinals in place of Larry Walker.
The other changes all make sense.
More!
Giants: Kirk Manwaring as the starting catcher
Great work Gerlost.
The Reds look good. The only suggestion I might have is to replace a couple guys who had a good year or two with guys who had similar numbers but spent more time as a Red.
Maybe somebody like Tom Browning over Harnisch and possibly replace Brantley with somebody like Norm Charlton or maybe even Danny Graves.
Cubs probably need Rick Wilkins at catcher. 1993 he hit about .307 / 33 hr
I love it. Glad to see Roberto Kelly made the list. As a kid, he welcomed me and mfriley33 and another friend into the AAA clubhouse and gave us each signed bats, balls, and cards. He gave me a Jose Cruz signed bat. Yes, it was signed Roberto Kelly, but who was I to complain? Also, Riley got a Roberto Kelly signed Jay Buhner bat and the next time out, Riley took said bat to the game and Buhner was pissed at him for having his bat. But he signed it anyway.
Later, Riley traded said bat to me for a 1985 Topps set, but I renigged on the deal and traded back. I had a clause (see Rackactular's post about terms of the Myers/Cabrera bet) in there that said I can change my mind within 1 week. And I did. Fuck me, I went to the Columbus Destroyers game tonight and now feel a wee bit druck.
And yes, by druck I mean drunk but I almost feel compelled to leave my error in there to prove that it is true...strange, indeed.
Columbus Destroyers?
Ohio is home to more than one WNBA team?
If you are doing a 1988-2005 ROM, you should have an ALL Steroid team. They would kick some serious ass.
This is an awesome list, well done Gerlost!
That Dodgers team looks TOUGH. As a sentimental pick, I would take Jose Offerman at SS over that Isurtiezlkj guy I never heard of. They both suck and were fast, so you might as well go with the guy that was known for his defensive "prowess"
Hideo Nomo has GOT to be in the staff for the Dodgers to complete the early 90's ROY theme.
replace the A's with the Royals
whatever happened to the columbus clippers?
At first, I flipped a coin and went with Brown over Nomo. But since Brown spent a larger part of his career with the Rangers, I think I'll switch it to Nomo, along with the other suggested changes (except I'm keeping Izturis over Offerman).
I also replaced Jayson Werth with Dave Hansen.
Columbus Clippers are still alive and well with big Dave Miley as skipper. A great place to get hammered out of your mind, harass Jose Offerman and in turn get harassed by old ass ushers. Also Malnu = Clippers foul ball magnet.
Columbus Destroyers = Arena Football
