Agreed, charting pitches too difficult to do in a tournament settings.  There's not enough of a body of work to really get the benefit against someone you are only going to play for 2-7 games...

A more important feature for you ATG guys is to truly know all the pitchers in RBI.  There are a bunch of pitchers that have really weak curves in one or both directions, knowing this is a huge plus. 

Example - knowing that reliever A can't throw for shit inside to a righty is very imporant when said pitcher lines all the way outside.  You can now crowd the inside of the plate and can't be thrown a missable (is that a word?) inside pitch.  It's either in the box or outside for a ball...

I don't subscribe to the charting of pitches, per se, but I do like to make mental note of what a player likes to throw in what situations.  I think it's one of the more enjoyable parts of the game.
