I know last year fightonusc made an attempt to get some press coverage for the Ohio tourney, without much luck, but I'm thinking maybe that Game 6 video would have RBI in people's minds enough that some media might pick up on the COTUT, especially since it has some level of history associated with it (I think this is the fourth COTUT). Has anyone done any looking into this? I'm ignorant in the ways of media and PR, but I'd be willing to try and help if I could.
While I won't be at the COTUT, I will be paying attention, and I intend to get my butt to a national tourney one of these years, even if I just end up getting thrashed by JoeDirt.
I should at least do a little pimping on the site. It's pretty sad that we had the biggest RBI Baseball internet flurry ever and I didn't do a front page update. At the same time, new forum traffic didn't really happen nor did my RBI email count...
I haven't heard anything from Beales since Columbus, he's usually a little more promotional on the boards towards the end. Should probably email him..
That's what happens when you exit the college life and enter the real world of working for the man. :(
Also, I did receive this email from a 2006 COTUT contestant the other day:
"At any rate, I'm the dude who's making the documentary about the COTUT. I'd love to get some interview footage with people before the tourney.
Any chance you'd be interested in being interviewed?"
Perhaps he and fighton can hook up and (then) parlay the PR skills and documentary into one kick ass project?
Isn't there a dee-neer who wants to be a documentary producer?
gerlost was interested in taping stuff for the chicago tourney-fest.
My digital camera does decent-enough video. But I was only planning on capturing random footage.
Also, back in January I posted this:

Someone should email him and see if he's interested in doing a story.
