Oh come on.  No one wants to make a prediction.  Just another way to get the trash talking up in a league where no one has any control over their teams.

Bait tactic:  Geena your team blows.

Ok, let me give this a shot:
Note:  Hitting = Power factor - Contact Factor.

The Poopybutts (Gantry):
Pros:
Has the best left handed player in the game (Jackson).
Has the fastest team overall (even with Hrbeck).
Got the first pick in the final round, getting arguably the best choice of the crap in Santiago (when factoring power and speed together).

Cons:
Ranked 7th overall in power
Ranked 8th overall in hitting.

Predicted final standing:  6th
Vegas Championship payout:  +825

One-Nutt Kruks (Weathermatt):
Pros:
Has the most powerfull batter AND best hitter (Dawson)
Has the fastest slowest guy.  (ie. nobody on his team is slower than Gagne, who is faster than the slowest guy on anyone else's team.)

Cons:
Ranked 5th or worse in Power, Hitting, and Speed (5/6/7 respectfully)
Has the highest standard deviation of power hitters (could mean inconsistancy in power through his lineup).  If not careful w/ the line-up, could result in 2-3 shitty power hitters batting in a row.

Predicted final standing:  7th
Vegas Championship payout: +940

Stock (kipsilanti):
Pros:
Ranked 4th in team speed.
Plethara of power hitting lefties (IMO key to a good team)

Cons:
Despite some great lefty pickups in the earlier rounds, some questionable later round picks makes his team the 10th ranked powerfull team as well as the 10th ranked hitting team (one of which was Gwynn-the least power in the league).

Neutral team attribute:
The spead of his players has a standard deviation of 9 (highest in the league).
Some could interpret this as a good ballance of speed as has a good mix of fast, slow and average guys.  Some may interpret this as inconsistancy (since only ranked 4th overall)

Predicted final standing:  5th
Vegas Championship payout: +1000

Generalisimos (Octo):

Pros:
Good ballance of power and speed as ranked 3rd overall in power, hitting, and speed.
His worst powerfull batter and hitter is KBass, who happens to be more powerfull than the weakest batter (power or hitting) on any other team (IMO KBass was a great pick in the 9th round for that reason, and he is a rather fast lefty).
Has the lowest standard deviation of speed among his hitters, which is pretty good since his team is 3rd overall (ie. good consistent speed throughout the lineup).

Cons:
If he had one REALLY fast guy (which he doesn't), he might have the total package.
Tough to find a con for Octo's team, other than his line-up won't be easy to put together as has several players pretty similar in tallent.

Predicted final standing:  3rd
Vegas Championship payout:  +650

Racktacular Nation (Vit):

Pros:
Has the fastest Player.
Had the 3rd best 1st/3rd round in terms of power (could have easily had the best 1-3 if not for the notorious Nokes Pick.

Cons:
Team is ranked 9th in Power, Hitting, and Speed.
IMO, Nokes may have been the worst early pick in the draft.  There were still almost 2 dozen guys with more power than him available.
Also, feel that Coleman was picked too early.

Predicted final standing:  10th
Vegas Championship payout:  +3450

Wrist Slitters (Big Hath):

Pros:
Ranked 2nd in Power
Ranked 4th in Hitting
Has the most powerfull lefty in the game.
Drafted more power than any other team in the 1st three picks.  He may have the most powerfull middle of the order in the league.

Cons:
Only 6th in speed rank.
Has the highest standard deviation of team power rankings (ie.. along with those great top three picks, also has a lot of scrubs.  May have inconsistent power throughout the lineup.)

Predicted final standing:  4th
Vegas Championship payout:  +675

Skull Fuckers (Shooty Babbit):

Pros:
Overall has the most powerfull and best hitting team in the league
Managed to be 5th in overall speed even though he focussed so much on power in the draft.

Cons:
May be lacking some lefty power.

Predicted final standing:  1st
Vegas Championship payout:  +650

Jew (GDavis):

Pros:
May have the most consistent power and hitting team (ie.. smallest standard deviation of power and hitting rankings).
May have the best (true) leadoff hitter in the league.  IMO Raines/Gibson could be a good lefty 1-2 punch in the beginning of the order.

Cons:
Ranked 8th in power and 7th in hitting (so although he has a consistent team, it may be consistently weaker than the competition.
Overall the slowest team in the league (even with Raines in the lineup!)
Every team in the league has at least one player with more power, than his most powerfull hitter.

Predicted final standing:  9th
Vegas Championship payout:  +1025

Slim (I don't dee-nee and therefor I am gay):

Pros:
Ranked 3rd in power and 2nd in hitting.
Ranked 2nd in overall speed.

Cons:
May be lacking some powerfull lefties with power.
Lacking a good speed guy (every other team has at least one guy faster than his fastest player).

Predicted final standing:  2nd
Vegas Championship payout:  +650

Tim Burks & the Faux Sox (Nomaaa):

Pros:
Seems to be pretty consistent 1-6.  Shouldn't have to work too hard to make that lineup work.
Picked up some faster lefties in late rounds.

Cons:
Ranked below average in Power and  Speed (6 and 8 respectfully).
Ranked 5th in Hitting (which wouldn't be so bad if he had some speed or power to go with it.)

Predicted final standing:  8th
Vegas Championship payout:  +1025

Wow. That is an impressive analysis.

..and we have another person jumping on the Nokes bandwagon. This should be a fun season.

Nice analysis Stock...

One thing that you forget is that "hitting" will never come into play.  Contact penalty is only applied if you don't get all of the bat on the ball.  Because the pitcher will be throwing down the middle with no curve, you'll hardly ever incur the contact penalty...

Isn't the sweet spot of the bat really small though?  There will be some occasions (maybe 20% of the time) when I don't hit with the sweat spot.
I am not going to be taking pitches until I get one right down the middle.  Since, I will have Ks and walks turned off, I will pretty much hack like I do in softball.... if hitable, I will swing.

wait, if there is no curve & it's right down the middle, how plan on you "hack"-ing and missing a pitch?

You should give the pitchers really, really high stamina.

Although curve and sinker attributes will be set to 0, the computer will still be pitching from different positions on the rubber and throwing pitches in different directions.

For example, I don't think it is possible to hit the ball (w/o getting the contact penalty), if it is pitched over the outside corner.
In this case, I will be swinging but will not get the full power on the ball.

i appologize, i was under the impression that wulf was making a rom where the pitcher couldn;t move on the mound.

Contact penalty?  LOL.  The first I've heard of this.  Perhaps I should get out of the anything goes forum a bit more often.  I wsa actually trying to pick guys with high power and high contact.  Whoops.  LOL.  My team will just have to step it up when it counts.  Being good on paper is worthless.

Good analysis Stock.

Yeah, high contact is bad!

Anyway, guessing that the standing may surprise some people.  When you take pitching out of the mix, anything can really happen.  My record for most consecutive hits (albeit against the cpu) is 17 with Herr.

When it comes down to it, every team has an average power ranking between 833 & 848.  That really isn't that big of a difference.
Another big wild car will be how many beers are in me when I am playing.

Best analysis I have ever seen by Stock.  Mainly because he has me in First place.  Bravo Mr Stock Bravo.

833 & 848 Power Averages are further proof that this is going to be a very competitive league.  I'm confident the Poopybutts can get into the playoffs...
