Post by: fightonusc on 05/17/06, 03:59:59 PM
From a press release:

"On Friday (May 19), the Astros will recognize the 1986 NLCS team with activities at Minute Maid Park. The players, coaches, and staff will be reunited during a private pre-game reception followed by an on-field ceremony emceed by Astros TV Broadcaster Bill Brown. The game versus the Texas Rangers is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., with pre-game ceremonies getting underway at 6:30 p.m.

1986 NLCS team members scheduled to attend include Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott, Glenn Davis, Phil Garner, Dickie Thon, Kevin Bass, Charley Kerfeld, Jose Cruz, Terry Puhl, Craig Reynolds, Bob Knepper, Jim Deshaies, Alan Ashby, Mark Bailey, Jeff Calhoun, Frank DiPino, and many more. "

There's also a golf tournament tomorrow somewhere in Houston. If ever there was a chance to get some RBI Baseball autographs of the worst team in the game, this is it...

The Mets were honored on opening day with Orosco throwing out the first pitch to Gary Carter.

Nobody really cared about that either.
