Title: Official "Analyze Your Stock Team" Thread
Post by: Gantry on 05/31/06, 11:12:58 AM
I know it was started on the main thread, but I think a new thread would generate more posts and we're under the gun for 10,000.  I want every owner to chime in today...

The Poopybutts

1) Tramml  - 0.630, 10HRs - Nothing nto complain about, though isn't exactly setting the world on fire either.

2)  Chili  - 0.625, 10HRs - Very similar #'s to Trammel but take a couple rounds earlier.  And if you discount his 10/10 game, then Chili has been a letdown.  Still don't think it was a bad pick, but he needs to bring that average up in the 2nd half.

3)  Potatoes - .727, 11HRs - Needs more homers but it's tough to complain aobut Potatoes.  The only player I would have taken over him is Dawson, so I'm not really too upset by anything.  He was my 1st pick and best player, though I expect more dingers in the 2nd half.

4)  Hrbek - .679, 12HRs - Summed up like most of my other players.  Not doing too bad, but really isn't exceeding expectations.  Average like everyone else so far...

5)  Lindeman - .679, 14HRs - Really starting to pick up the pace as of late.  I think Stock is learning how to swing the stick with Lindeman and I expect a big 2nd half.

6)  McGee - .655, 8HRs - Merely "eh" with those numbers.  I clearly put too much value overall on speed in this league.  I should have known better, power wins ballgames.

7)  Garner - .566, 8HRs - Probably my biggest disappointment so far, which I guess is a good thing.  Needs to bring up that average.

8)  Santiago - .620, 11HRs - Holy fuck!  Santiago is leading my team in SLG?  My last pick?  WTFBBQ?  I am speechless and expect a big drop in #s for the 2nd half.  If he ends up with .600 and 18 I won't complain.

9)  Pettis - .458, 4HRs - What a complete waste of space, even with his last two games.  He sucks and I shouldn't have drafted him, not much else to say...

Overall the poopybutts aren't getting the job done.  If you look at the #s, everyone is merely doing OK outside of Santiago.  Nobody is really exceeding expectations, I need the big sticks to play like MVPs in the 2nd half if I'm gonna have any chance of winning...

I'll just do the ol' cut and paste here:

Smith: .500/2/13: Would like to see a slightly higher average, but he is still getting on base fairly well, and the two homers have actually been good so far.

EDIT: Actually, I take that back. That sack of shit Smith can't hit. I didn't realize how truly sucky .500 is in this league. He needs to hit .600 at the bare minimum, .625 to be safe.

Gaetti: .622/7/23: Not as good as I hoped, I would like to see more power from the Gar.

Dawson: .750/16/37: Simply solid, anything less from the Hawk would be a major disappointment.

Brookens: .727/8/21: Solid in the clean up spot, but like Gaetti, a few more HR's would be nice.

GDavis: .659/10/28: Has cooled off quite a bit from his torrid start, but is still meeting expectations.

Whitaker: .683/7/22: Solid, no complaints here.

Brenly: .683/5/17: Excellent average for the seven spot, with some power

Reynolds: .500/4/12: Ouch. Less slugging than even Ozzie, and he's hitting behind Brenly, with his oodles of doubles. What a bust.

Gagne: .744/9/31: Where the fuck did this come from? Far surpassed my 9th round expectations, second on the team in production only to Dawson.

You're close...Ganty was inspired by "The Poopydicks."  Let's face it, any team that has the word POOP in the name is gonna be a winner.
