Title: 1st ever triple play!
Post by: TbT on 06/05/06, 09:37:10 PM
Booya!  I believe it was my 1st ever against a human.  Nate Nate Nate had em loaded.  Lindeman was up and he crushed 1 to my 3rd baseman.  caught it, tagged 3rd, and gunned em at 2nd. Lindeman hit a fkn rocket.  I/Hou won that game 2-0.

Natester and I got in about 7 games of cotut warm-ups and all went fairly well for me.  I believe i went 5-2.

I dropped the opening game thanks to 3 Det homers in the 9th 5-4 vs Bos.  I had been lights out until that inning, and Gedman had gone yard twice.

Then i went on a streak.  We got stuck in a grudge match with Bos(Nate) Det(me) for about 3 straight games later on.  I won in 13 or 14 innings with a walk off homer, and another game i came back from a 5-2 deficit as Clemens ran out of gas badly in the 9th inning.  It was a homer fest to finish the game.  I also 10 runned him in a Det/Bos game.  one of those rarities where he just get shellacked from the get go and never recovers.

Overall i didnt do too bad.  I wasnt as unpredictable as i would have liked while pitching, but did alright hitting my spots in most situations.

other highlights.  Nates teams always make a rediculous amount of errors.  doesnt matter which team he has, he gets screwed at the most in-oportune times.  my pitcher hits a semi deep fly to center, and his CF bops it.  next batter goes yard or hit a double(with 2 outs)

Lindeman also lined into a double play in him next at bat after the triple play.

then whats my favorite thing ever in RBI versus nate, I'll get some momentum going and win a couple dog fight games in the late innings with a homer or whatever.   and then to start the next game, my lead off guy will go yard or i'll plate 2 or 3 runs to start off a game.  just crushes him right away after he's been thru a couple crazy and tough games.

You know what i love about TBT? He has this same creative memory my wife has. Its just no where near as cute when he does it. Brad seems to recall 7 games, i seem to recall like 9. and i seem to think he won 5 and i won 4. cause we played two games with the giants and angels which we split, we played lik 4 with detroit and boston which i won one, and yes he beat me with clemens tanking and he forgot to mention a walsy in that game occured right after a freegin error. i also had a double play that turned into zero outs and two runners on in that game.

TBT always tells me that errors are do to random chance processing, i'll tell ya what, if its nothing but statistical anomalies than i'm the most unchanced, unlucky, son of a motherless goat in the world. it is retarded the errors and bops that strike me at the worst times. in perfect position, its inevitable. if its past the 7th inning. if im ahead, if its extra innings, if were tied late in the game, if there's two outs on him, its inevitable. i swear i have like 2-3 bops every game, at the worst times imaginable. its just ridiculous. i'll be out of the inning, bop------------------ 2 outs bottom of the ninth i'm up by two, BOP------------------

the worst ever though was lindeman getting 5 outs in two hits. that triple play was just, just, there are no words. brads relief pitchers had to have hit like .750 tonight for goodness sakes. his pitchers were like the only guys who could hit. i'll tell ya what. if i had a game without a single bop, it would shock me so much, i'd have to run around the neighborhood backwards, naked, yelling, the indians won the pennant, the indians won the pennant, oh my God the Indians have won it. i mean seriously, its just ridiculous. i'm cursed or something.

I did notice TBT forgot about the fact that we had one game interrupted that i was up 1-0 in the first inning on. and we stopped the game cause i had to run one of my beautiful daughters to tee-ball practice.

lets see- 2games angels/giants (split), 5 games det/bos (i won one game with bos and one with det) so 2/3. hou vs. cards he shut me out, and new york/minn we split so whats that, i was 4 and 6. so i won 4 out of 10. shut up Brad, you always short change me ya jerk.

Whenever your up for round two this week cracker let me know. and so as to not get too many more comments about me being long-winded, i'm done. >:(

thats like a yogi berra-ism er something.

nate i believe hit the crontroller wrong on a comebacker to the pitcher and threw to 1st instead of 2nd to turn a double play.   but he was in a hurry to try and throw out the guy heading to 2nd as well, and did so in a fast manner that the computer didnt record an out. standard issue nate screw up.

i gotta hand it to that foo, he's always high comedy on the RBI tip.  im thinking you may have had NY yourself somewhere in the mix as well.  and that extra inning game, whadda piece of crap.  Clemmens and Hurst both went 6 innings each.  thats tough tough to deal with when the starters mow em down like that.

yeah and until inning 14 neither of em had given up a run, i was schooling you with those two guys, man, oh man, i told ya too, if i didn't score a run that inning i was screwed, and well,

nice job calling homers tonight  u never seem to forget PH'ing bastards who deal you death.  IIRC correctly you'd mentioned Gedman doing damage in the past before he went bonkers with 2 homers.

I don't know if this has ever been discussed....

But it seems that, when I've been playing recently, I can make my fielders commit errors at will if I hit a directional button at the exact instant the ball reaches my fielder.

Actually, I was serious.  I committed errors on three consecutive plays when I tried that.  I can't do it consistantly though.

So you can commit errors at will, but just not consistantly? I guess you have a streaky will...

Well, it's tough to press the button at the exact instant the ball hits the fielder, especially when I have to use the keyboard.  But I'll get good at it soon enough.

Just you wait.

the errors are unquestionably random.  i did a search, but didnt find the thread about it.  nightwulf fesses up all about it.
