Title: The accidental substitution
Post by: GPines on 05/01/02, 07:08:06 PM
The guys out here were playing and we had a funny thing occur. I knew it would happen someday and it finally did. One guy was getting ready to throw a fastball by pressing down and the A button, and the other was going to pinch hit, he hit start. the guy on defense accidentally changed pitchers and lost his stater Clemens. This was a Fucked Up Substitution.

that would definately put a strain on your bullpen...  i cant imagine having to use stanley and schiraldi for any long period of time...

I have never seen that happen...  Wouldn't you have to press "A" twice for this to happen?

not only do you have to push "A" twice but you also have to be pushing down.  this means that you are trying to throw a fastball and are not paying attention.

That is a good point, I can see how you could press down A real quick, but you have to hit A then down A. I don't know, but it happened.

Although sometimes expecially in straight pitch, you might be trying to quick pitch someone and keep hitting the A button then press down. So if someone is trying to quick pitch you call time maybe you can get rid of a pitcher.

the accidental sub used to happen alot when we played straight pitch...cause you were trying to rush a quck one in...but the person has to be totally oblivious to whats going on...but, much like life, in RBI things can change in just a blink of an eye
