Title: post cotut depression.
Post by: TbT on 06/24/06, 11:27:33 AM
i guess its not over, so maybe is during cotut depression.

dangitt.  its really kicking my ass right now.  all the little preparations i did to get ready in about every way possible for this.

I came up with some memorization shit to help remember each bench player and where in the order they could give me a PH bonus boost in that 1 at bat for a late game situation.  Like Wilfong.  He can sub for the Butt Hole Surfers.  B-for Boone, H for Hendrick, and S for Schofield.   ;D

Sheridan is called lemon-aide.  He and Heath can basically sub for all the same dudes, but Sheridan is the only dude with pop from the bench to sub for Chet lemon, thus Lemon-Aid.

Min has a crappy bench, but to remember the order of thier power, they are called LSD.  Larkin-Smalley-Davidson.  Min is fairly easy to remember.  Bush, Gagne, Lombardozzi are all the weak links on that team late in the game.

I came up with this shit for every team.  Its just part of being a good manager and being ready for any situation ahead of time.

Then after that i just had to memorize a few starters per team and thier power ratings.  So i could make the best possible moves late in the game, leaving the players with the most pop still in the line-up incase a game went into extra innings.

I did some of this crap with pitchers too.  I made some individual sheets for them based on thier drop balls, and also ran thru and highlighted a few other things that indicate the guys who can change speeds the best in the game.

A lot of what i did was fairly miniscule, but on occasion its good to know all this crap come the proper situation.  It was a slug of things i didnt know last year at the tourney.

I can't believe you sub Sheridan for Lemon, unless a lefty hit is in order.

it would only be for 1 at bat situation late in the game.   that is not an all game situation by any means.

sometimes depending on the pitcher and where hes at stamina wise, i can get a btter look with a lefty over a righty.  or a righty over a lefty.  i came up with the list to offer me the most options so i get a comfortable at bat.

its my thing, but not exactly for anyone else.

i also used to prefer my batter to be right handed vs a right handed pitcher, but over time i have grown to prefer facing an opposite handed pitcher.

my game is changing over time.

TBT, you are definitely missed.  I dedicate the rest of my tourney to Mr. TBT and the deer shit smeared all over his car.  :(

this takes you to the brackets. (http://www.rbibaseballcotut.com/nonjava/documents/RBI%204%20Baseball%20Tournament%20Brackets-Completed.doc)

dirt is 2-0.  he said silverblatt was a very good opponent, and this year the competition seems very good so far.

Thanks for the link TBT, I'm definitely rooting for JoeD this year....

I have a shindig happening at the casa today, so I likely won't get to the tourney.  What is tomorrow's schedule looking like?

That's fucking crazy.  Looks like JoeD and Riley have their work cut out for them.  JoeD definitely needs to dedicate a possible victory to TBT and to that deer burning in hell.

Gantry, just a warnig--I will be highly disappointed if you don't make an appearance tomorrow.  <--note to TBT, this is how "tomorrow" is spelled.

Tourney is in deed at an all time high as far as talent goes.  The biggest upset by far is Foster getting rolled.

I'll update some more in the other thread.
