Title: Tecmo Rom
Post by: Clambutt on 07/04/06, 05:42:23 AM
Found a Tecmo(not super)editor.  Just started editing a 06 ROM.  Gonna finish it and start on a All-Time Teams ROM.  Not gonna make stats too outragous so to keep it more like the original, but still super stoked as this is somthing I've wanted to do for a while.  Any suggestions would be great.

Judging by some  ideas and persepectives on the game, heres a few points.

go with last years playoff teams.  makes sense for a 06 rom.
to honestly represent some teams overal ability, remember that some players will need to get the shaft, and others may get better rating than in real life to make a teakm as good as thier NFL counterpart.

If you make the Colts Dwight Freeney as fast as LT was then they will be possibly too dominant compared to what the team could actually do on defense.  Maybe Freeney has rulon jones speed.  Or the other option is to make Freney an absolute beast, but give IND realy no other fast players on D.  Plus the colts should have a fairly decent cranked up offense, so they dont need a big time defenses anyways.  just a serviceable one.

A team like the Pats, give Brady an absolute lazer, but maybe make the wr's slow.  Adam vinitieri would have the strongest leg on the game.  Also give the Pats some serviceable guys on defense here and there.  maybe no onbe lights out awesome, but some half ass decent speed at the key positions.

The Bucs could have a blazing fast galloway, and a decent speed caddy(think joe morris) but maybe simms doesnt have a cannon for an arm, since Tampa wasnt an offensive machine.  For the Bucs D, i say put Rice as a speedy DE at the top, Brooks as a speedy OLB at the bottom, so they would have speed to cat and mouse effectively on defense and have speed from the key positions like DE, and OLB.

The Bears can be loaded on defense, and have a real shitty offense, with slow wr's and a sucky qb.  maybe givbe them some help woth a decent runing back speed.

Probably give the seabags a high octane offense, and some fairly decent defense.

Can you post a link to the editor?  I'd love to play around with it, too!

You should really check out knobbe.org,  Just like dee-nee but for Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl fans.  Also has many editors for games other than tecmo like Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for SNES and NHL '95  Site also has many roms from season past  for TSB.

I know the place you're talking about, but most of the ROMS either have crazy high player abilities or something else screwed up.  Also none of them edit old Tecmo Bowl which is the superior version of the two games in my opinion.
