Today is the day, 4 entries for the 2006 RBI Baseball Drinking Game Championship. Four contestants playing each other in a 2-game series, best two records play a best of three finals. RBI Drinking rules officially enforced, meaning 12-20 beers per entrant.
Start time should be 7pm CST.
Good luck to all participants. I will be grilling, drinking and following along from Kentucky.
The draw:
1st Series:
Gantry vs Racktacular
Sperling vs Potsie
2nd Series:
Sperling vs Ractacular
Gantry vs Potsie
3rd Series:
Sperling vs Gantry
Racktacular vs Potsie
Potsie has an uphill battle with no first picks. On the other hand I have 3 first picks. A lot of pressure. I'm wearing the same outfit as the Qualifier - I hope it works. Gantry is wearing clean socks...hmmmm.
Dee-Nee!!! Tourney is about to begin.
Game 1:
Gantry (DET) vs Racktacular (BOS)
First pitch...the 2006 RBI Tourney is underway.
Game 1 is over.
Racktacular (BOS) upsets Gantry (DET) 15-14, with a walk off HR by Hendu.
HR's:
Det: 12
Bos: 10
KEYS TO THE GAME:
Boston: THE PITCHING STAFF:
Stuttering Stanley started and was able to keep Boston in the game through 3 2/3 innings by giving up 6 runs and only 1 after the first. Clemens came in and limited Detroit to only a few runs and when Clemens was pulled Boston had a 2 runs lead. After a shaky 7th inning for Hurst (4 runs) he had a 1,2,3 8th. Calvin Schraldi then came in for the 9th and left a donut on the board for Detroit.
With Boston down 1 run going into the bottom of the 9th, Dwight Evans hit a solo shot and then with 2 out Hendu hits a walk off shot to win the game.
Detroit: LEFTY ROW:
Detroit was never able to get going with their lefties and put enough points on the board. Chalk it up to first game jitters because I don't think we'll see such a poor display of Detroit lefties from Gantry for the rest of the tourney.
Overall it was a HUGE opening win for the defending champ, Racktacular. I'm on my way to acomplishing my goal to be the first back-to-back Dee-Nee Champion!
It's shitty that we don't have Lips to post the updates.
Game 1, Series 1
Sperling (DET) vs Potsie (CA)
Det - 19, 11 HRs
Ca - 7, 6 HRs
5 inning slaughter.
Potsie "I wish my first baseman had 10ft arms". I had 25 hits, mostly lefty hits.
Dee-Nee!!!
Game 2, Series 1 up now...
Racktacular (DET) vs Gantry (CA)
Shut up bitch!
Here's your update, Gantry just slaughtered Rack.
Sperling (1-0)
Gantry (1-1)
Rack (1-1)
Pots (0-1)
The lack of posts continues...
Pots won the final game of the first round, to knot everyone at (1-1). Gantry has the tie-breaker over Jason if they tie in the final standings, while Sperling has the tie-breaker over Pots.
Sperling (DET) v.s. Racktacular (BOS) game 1 is over.
Racktacular slaughters Sperling in 4 innings 15-5. DEE-NEE!
Stuttering Stanley wasn't as impressive as he gave up 3 ER's in 1 1/3 inning. Clemens came in and showed why he is the all-time best pitcher and only allowed Detroit 2 runs the rest of the way. The entire Boston lineup was on fire as they scored 5 in the first, 2 in the second, 4 in the 3rd and 4 in the 4th to end the game.
Now I have to take advantage and get a victory with Detroit. Big game 2. 3-1 is much much better than 2-2.
Why isn't Lips playing? Rack, it's up to you to represent the Jews in this one.
Up now:
Gantry (DET) v.s. Potsie (BOS)
Through 5 full innings
Gantry: 4
Potsie: 2
A terrible display of championship RBI on center stage right now.

Lips didn't qualify for the championship tourney in the qualifier. It was Lips, Sperling and Gantry. Lips had the worst record of the 3 and with only 2 spots available, Lips is here as a spectator. Both Potsie and myself were in the finals last year so we automatically qualify for the championship tourney.
JEWS!
Rack is a Jew
He better get mad hits like he was Rod Carew
BILL BUCKNER HR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
POOYAN!
No live webcast of the tournament? Damn, Dee-Nee needs to upgrade.
Potsie - Bos 15, 12 HRs
Gantry - Det 10, 8 HRs
Gantry sure does suck tonight
(This is Rack)
Game 2 between Sperling and Racktacular
Racktacular (DET) - 23. 17 HR's.
Sperling (CALI) - 16 12 HR's.
Sperling put up one hell of a fight. Rack was up 11 in the 5th with Decenses (sp?) up. Subbed Alexander for King. HR. Dah-Nah. Then subbed in Hernandez to face Joyner and Jackson. Joyner po. Jackson HR. Double Dah-Nah. Forced to sub in Morris (my las pitcher) to finish the game. Was up by 11 in the next inning, just to have Sperling cut it to 7. Then later to 4! But in the top of the 9th, Detrot came through strong with a 5 spot to put the game out of reach.
With the sweep of Sperling, I am now 3-1. Need...to...keep...winning...
Gantry (CALI), Potsie (DET) playing now. Gantry up 6-0 in the top of the 1st.
So Alexander pitched to one batter and Hernandez pitched to two batters? Poor management!
Gantry (CA) vs Potsie (DET)
CA - 21, 14 HRs
DET - 18, 17 HRs
Plus a questionable infield fly rule that didn't cause too much controversy.
Racktacular - 3-1
Gantry - 2-2
Potsie - 2-2
Sperling 1-3
Here was the controversy, make up your own decision.
Potsie fielding. Gantry with a man on 1st and 2nd. 1 out. Gantry pops it up to short short centerfield, about 4 RBI men deep past the infield line. Potsie bops. Throws to 2nd for 1 out and then gets the man on 2nd out in a run down for the 3rd out.
The unofficial rule is that on a bop in the infield you only take 1 out. Since Potsie bopped technically in the OF he took 2 outs (even though it was barely over the infield line, but clearly in the actual OF).
Gantry argues that he never never takes 2 outs on a BOP. Potsie argues that he didn't intentionally cause a BOP and the BOP was in the OF and blames Gantry on poor base running.
Overall the double play stands with no penalty to Potsie.
What does everyone think. Should this be a puhl?
Flip a coin. The coin never lies.
Gantry (CALI) Sperling (DET)
5th inning
DET 10
CALI 1
Sperling wins...
Rack (3-1)
Pots (2-2)
Sperling (2-3)
Gantry (2-3)
The finals breakdown:
If Rack wins either game against Potsie, Rack is back in the finals.
If Rack loses both games, Pots will be back in the finals and Rack will face the winner of Sperling/Gantry in a tie-breaker game...for a chance to make the finals.
If Pots only wins one game against Rack, he will face the winner of Sperling/Gantry in a tie-breaker game.
The winner of Sperling/Gantry will qualify for the finals if Rack sweeps Pots. If Rack doesn't sweep Pots, the winner of Sperling/Gantry will face the worse record between Rack/Pots in a tie-breaker game, while the better record between Rack/Pots makes the finals.
[Rack Posting]
Racktacular (DET) slaughters Potsie (BOS) 13-3 in 4 innings.
HR's-
Det: 8
Bos: 2
I have no idea what the hell Lips posted but all I know is that I am automatically the #1 seed in the finals.
Dee-Nee-She-Nee-Nee!
We have an elimination...
Gantry takes out Sperling.
Gantry awaits the outcome of the Rack/Pots game. If Rack wins, it's Rack and Gantry in the finals. If Pots wins, it's Gantry and Pots in a tie-breaker game...where Pots will have choice of team.
Potsie makes quick work of Rack...slaughters him 10-0 in 1.
Potsie/Gantry are up. The winner takes on Rack in a best of 3.
Potsie goes down in 6; Gantry is onto the finals against Rack.
Rack has choice of team.
It's OVER!
RACKTACULAR (the Jew) IS YOUR 2006 DEE-NEE RBI CHAMPION!!!!!!
I am also the very first BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPION!
Dee-Nee-She-Nee-Nee!!!!!!
First game in finals:
Rack (DET) beats Gantry (CALI) 20-19 with a walk-off-HR in the bottom of the 9th!
Remember that theme as in game 2:
Rack (BOS) defeats Gantry (DET) 20-19 with a walk-off- HR in the bottom of the 9th!
Yup that is right 2 wins by walk off HR's in the finals. MV-fkn-P in the last game of the finals was Wade Boggs who had 4 HR's and at least 6 RBI. MV-fkn-P of the first game of the finals was Hernandez as he went 3 innings to hold Cali enough for Detroit to take its first lead of the game with that walk-off solo HR in the 9th.
I would like to thank all my sponsors: Reebok apparel for my RACKTACULAR JERSEY and to Miller Light with that great taste that is less filling.
If Lips ever puts the video on the internet you will all see my fkn awesome Racktacular jersey. Dee-Nee!
Ok this post has taken me fkn forever due to typo's, so the 2005 and now the 2006 RBI CHAMPION needs to retire to his throne at 4 am in order to be at a baseball game at 845 am. Dah-Nah.
More to come tomorrow...
How's sheridan doing?
Ok it is now752 am. Dah-Nah. Need to leave in 8 minutes for baseball. I'm not feeling very extra special. This blows.

rack is so hung over it took roughly 8 minutes to type this. damn, that drinking championship sounds like hel and takes it tol.
what did you guys think of nokes' performance throughout the tournament?
Good series overall, came up a little short but Rack played well. That extra tiebreaker is what did me in, the booze definitely comes into play after 7 drinking games. Two 20-19 losses off walkoffs is tough to swallow, but I really didn't have the same killer instinct in the finals. I don't have to qualify, which is dee-nee....
congratulations rack.

You sound like a fucking loser. Nice work Rack.
And we are NEVER doing a 7pm starting time again, drinking for over 9 hours is tough enough, but not ending things until 4:30am was just fkn brutal...
That was our 8th drinking game tournament, time fkn flies!
You're nothin', you lost, you're a loser. Second place is no place, you're off the team.
Second place means no qualifier, which in my book is huge. I went out on two walkoff homers, the RBI should be won or lost...
It's a quote from Karate Kid II. I thought you'd get it. Maybe we're not friends afterall?

Mr. RBI?
Gantry has a book? I'd like to read it. I assume it's leather-bound?

In Gantry's book, no qaulifier looks like this:
NO QUALIFIER
