So I was perusing GameFAQs the other day looking at random NES stuff, when I decided to check out the RBI section of the site. The one guide the site has is substantially lacking knowledge about pretty much all of the inner workings of RBI (heck, it doesn't even have the player attributes! It relies on the manual's A-E ranking in speed and contact).
Basically, there is not a good .txt (or otherwise text-based) guide about RBI for other websites like GameFaqs. (Or if there is, I haven't seen it.) I propose that we at Dee-Nee put together such a guide. This would accomplish two main things:
1) Any random person seeing the guide would know anything and everything they ever needed to know about RBI, and...
2) Dee-Nee would be advertised.
I'm already working on a rough outline in Notepad. What I'm thinking this guide should include (and there's probably more that I'm forgetting):
- How to play the game (basic controller functions, how to hit/pitch/field/sub, etc.).
- Explanation of the game types.
- Explanation of stats and player attributes (what power, contact, etc. mean).
- Details of all 10 teams and 160 players in the game, and strategies on how to use them (Ex: Jose Uribe - get this bag of ass out of the game immediately).
- Various gameplay tips (how to throw out a base stealer by throwing to home, etc.).
- Anything else that might seem relevant.
I probably won't need much help from the Dee-Nee community (other than support), but if you'd like to help:
- I could use some cheesy ASCII art to grace the top of the file. An RBI guy is preferred, or possibly the RBI logo.
- Mostly, however, I'll need proofreaders to go over the guide and check for errors, fill in information, that sort of thing.
If anyone's interested, I've attached my rough outline. Let me know what you guys think.
If someone was looking for that kind of information wouldn't they probebly find Dee-Nee anyway?(that's how I found it) All of that information is already here.
They might, they might not.
Still, it'd be a nice thing to have out there.
I just Googled "RBI Baseball" and Ganrtys RBI page is at the top of the page.

Can someone check ISP's and compare, please?
No, we prefer just assuming.
I'm glad everyone has a guy to voice their opinions for them. That is sweet of you.
I speak for the people.

Yes. Someone can.
