I just heard about this on Sportscenter and saw the link on espn.com.

This really sucks. I guess even Uncle Jesse can't go on forever. It's a sad, sad day for RBI fans everywhere.
fucking tragic
Probably the best reliever in the game (RBI), thanks for creating one of my favorite childhood memories.
Wow, I'm absolutely speechless. I thought Uncle Jessie had another 5 years or so left. But you can't fault him for anything he's done. Christ, he started pitching during the 1979 season, I wasn't even 2 yet. And I bitch about feeling old...
An appropriate pic for my first day with the digtal camera. To you Jessie Orosco!
I am saddened and will be drinking to Jesse tonight. Great pic Gantry, that says it all. Also, I'm sure that dig camera will come in handy for us dee-nee'ers.

Dude, your x-mas lights are still up.
They actually didn't come up until after xmas... I just noticed that none of them work...
Jesse is retiring?! I'm speechless.
What are the DBacks going to do for a lefty specialist?
Jesse, we hardly knew you. :'(
From the story at mlb.com
Said Keith Hernandez, the first baseman on those Mets teams of the '80s: "He never hurt his arm. He had one of those golden arms and he was one of those lefties that could get a lefty out. Jesse could get lefties out and that's why he lasted so long. I remember him saving those games in the World Series against Boston and against Houston."
...when i wasn't all coked up... even though it seems like i'm coked up in this interview.... did i mention he can get lefties out?
thanks keith, go do another hair dye commercial-- 'Stache, you freakin' Herndz
PBR is quality....just like jessie
it had to happen...just not today. :(
Gantry, are you in a social studies classroom?
I have a thing with reference materials, I have chock full of Maps, Atlai, Encyclopedias etc. You can never have enough...
Here you go... Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road, the greatest anime series of all time...
hey....you ARE good with that digital camera. :)
Here's to hoping Uncle Jesse's retirement is as "long" as Clemens's was... :'(
I have a game-used Jeffery Leonard bat. It is cracked and purchased off of ebay. I also have signed Will Clark baseball. I need a Rick Rueschel jersey! It would probably be size 50+.

That's cool. I have a Jose Cruz, Sr. game used cracked bat. Roberto Kely gave it to me...long story. :)
Tell it!
The Yanks never should have traded him.
Good point. Pauly is one of my all-time favorite Yanks. I completely forgot he was the deal with Roberto. No matter, I still love Roberto Kelly. He was supposed to be the next Clemente, you know.
Paul O'Neill is the fucking man. He is one of very very few Yanks players I've ever liked. I have a sweet ass Reds mesh hat that he signed for me in the mall back in like 89.
That's pretty cool. I've always thought he was a class act.
