Title: Introduction
Post by: AndyDeGreat on 01/24/04, 07:12:14 PM
Hey...I'm Andy, I've been lurking around here for somewhere around 6 months or so...been playing RBI since about 1990 or so, what a great game this is :-)

I'm just thinking though, has anyone come up with a ROM with the same original teams, but making the "suggested substitutions" from the site (i.e. swapping Wilfong for Pettis, Jones for Grich, Burleson for Boone, on California, and so on for all 10 teams)...

Andy welcome.  Good to have you join us.  I will attempt to answer why we have not created such a rom.  I have not because I am a dumbass.  However, those who have such skill may have not for one of three reasons.  1.  We generally make radically different roms and that isn't much of a change since they can just be subbeds.  2.  Opinions vary as to who should be subbed for whom and when.  3.  It is sacrilidge to alter the actual RBI game.  Having the ability to change your lineup to your likings before the game begins would be way to much like RBI 2 and 3 which are the most evil prgrams ever created in history.

I dunno, I kinda liked 2 as well...Not nearly as much as 1, though.

But it brings up another question...

If you could (and wanted to) rearrange the 12 players on each team into a lineup of 8 players, in any order, what lineup would you set for each team?

Dove makes very good points as usual.  Especially the one about him being a dumbass.  ;D
