Every time I hit the forward-slash key or the apostrophe key, those things wont function, and instead I get a bar at the bottom that comes up that says "Find," as if it were a search option (or search for the search option). Is this a new, annoying feature, or do I need to figure out what is wrong with my computer?

Do you use mozilla?
Are you typing those in a reply box?
Try unplugging everything and plugging it back in.
Everytime I hit quote for a quick reply this green bar comes up at the top of the screen that says "loading." That's all I got.

Why would this be?
The answers are yes, and I think so to your questions, by the way.
Because I think in mozzilla (at least my version, which is pretty old...maybe), when you type anything on your keyboard and the cursor isn't set to type, it will take you to whatever you typed on the page.
Essentially it's a "find on page" thingy that you don't have to initiate.
"Find as you Type" is quite possibly the biggest time-saver ever invented in the history of browsing.
For no-fun bandits, disable it via Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> (uncheck) Begin finding when you begin typing.

That option sucks ass!
