Bert Blyleven has been suspended from TV for two games for using profanity during a live segment he thought was being taped. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/09/04/bc.bba.twins.blyleven.ap/index.html)
Anybody know whether the video is floating around online anywhere? A youtube search for "blyleven" turned up nothing.
Viewers are pussies.
I hate the FCC.
I read an article the other day somewhere about the Twins team pictures and Blyleven taking the liberty to moon the team numerous times.
A Twins message board happened to mention another Blyleven booth incident during a discussion of this - in a game earlier this year, they had a guy in the booth from American Idol, and Blyleven said to him, "Let's talk about Paula Abdul ... Did you get lucky with her?"
Also, his Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bert_Blyleven) has a list of a few other Blyleven on-air episodes, including this gem:
Quote from: WikipediaOn August 15, 2006, the Twins were facing the Cleveland Indians. Shin-Soo Choo pinch hit in the ninth inning. When Bremer said Choo's full name, Blyleven responded by saying "Bless you."

How...embarrassing.
No fair - it didn't give me a warning when I posted.
I'll leave it there anyway, just because I don't like deleting posts.
the other guy was very professional about it, he tried to pick up on the highlights immediately after the slip up and didn't miss a beat when the camera was back on them
I just wish that when Blyleven spoke it sounded all boomy and robotic like a mecha-blyleven
That's classic. They did transition back into the broadcast very well. The looks on their faces are awesome after it happened.
"We've gotta do this fuckin' thing over because I just fucked it up..."
"Oh, we're live!"
For some reason they increased his suspension 2 or 3 more games and he apologized again not really sure why
It's probably because the FCC are a bunch of pussies, and they felt like giving him more time off? I just wish the FCC would go defunct already because they blow goats during their time. :)
I'm not sure that the FCC hands out individual suspensions.

I'm not sure that the FCC hands out individual suspensions.
I'm also fairly sure that cable TV is out of their jurisdiction.
