Donnie Baseball just hit a homer into large black mass in centerfield! I haven't done that in about ten years. I can't believe it just happened. Hooray for fknmclane!
does it bother any of you other rocket scientists/baseball fans that it's called a "black hole"? congrats to donnie B, but if it were a black hole then more home runs would be hit into it because of the lewinsky-ness of what a black hole does-- sucks gravity like crazy into a tiny mass.
anyway, very simply boys... it's the hitter's background
ball players call that "the batter's eyes"
You were using an ALL-STAR team?
Random choices. Always.
That's why it's called the "Black Thing" rather than the "Black Hole"
However, I prefer the term "the void"
I like that.
i refer to it as the "great beyond".
I have a black hole, too. :P
its proper name is the "black stuff".
Every since I've heard Black Thing (what ever happened to the poster BlackThing?) we've used that term. It's even in the glossary now...
And I honestly think the rarity of the Black Thing is overrated. It's certainly not common, but does happen every once in awhile. I find the wallzie to be much more uncommon...
Agree with Gantry. Black thing HRs are fairly common.
If it is the hitter's background, then y does it say game over at the end of the game?
Excellent point Burnzky. Anybody up for answering that one? I think it's an extension of the scoreboard.

I hit one in there with Kirby Puckett (Al Groper) tonight! While I don't think it's the rarest feat out there, I'm still damn pleased with myself.
I too get a little excited every time I put one into the void. It's not really a great feat, but it's the little things in life that make me happy. Like crack cocaine.
