If you have a no-hitter going with a tired pitcher, do you take him out and go for a combined no-hitter with bullpen or do you leave pitcher in throwing BP and hope for the best?
I took Tudski out the other night with a no-no and Dayley gave up a hit. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep that night.
you gotta go for the win first and foremost - playing for the no no is blasphemy
Right but let's say you have a comfortable lead, and your starter has nothing left. Do you bring in fresh reliver and go for combined no-no, or do you have to let your starter give up a hit first.
I you have a 3-4 run lead, you stay with the starter until the no-no is broken up
im more likely to go for the combined no hitter.
If you're up 8 or so runs, just walk to the pitcher or a weak hitter every inning and get the final outs that way, even if you give up 6 runs and 14 walks, it's still a no hitter.
Depends on the situation. If I'm up by 4+ runs or so (which I usually am, if not more) I just leave him in until the no-no or shutout is broken up. If that means walking around dangerous hitters, by all means I'll do it.
If I'm only up by a couple, I try and take him out at the best chance (usually when I can pinch-hit for him) to be sure to not let the opponent back in the game.
You must always try to get the no-hitter with one guy. Otherwise, you will have nothing to fap it to later.
Because seriously, if you put in a reliever, you'll be fapping while you're thinking about two guys, and that's a little too gay for baseball.
I gotta take a fap...
