In the rewrite of RBI editor, the following features are planned: allow any batting average, allow any era, and allow batting data per-pitcher. The code behind these features is done, and is used in this ROM:

Instructions for editing the data in the new format are available here:

This is probably only of any use to the people who edit ROMs regularly. Also, if you haven't ever used a hex editor to edit parts of the ROM, this will probably be confusing as all hell. However, since who knows when I'll have the new RBI editor ready, this will let you use these new features now.
This is also a sneaky way of testing. ;) While I've spent a good amount of time playing this ROM to make sure everything works correctly, you never know if I may have missed something. Let me know of anything odd, and thanks.

This is terrific! Has anyone ever put together a text file of all of the file offsets for the old data? We could combine them into a comprehensive RBI hacking how-to guide...
(not to take anything away from the editor, of course...)
Just did a 4-inning Watch Game with Stl vs Min and it looked fine to me. Right on dee-nee.com, FCEU .81 on Linux Console...
The computer can't field...

Actually, Gantry was talking about making such a document. I've got all the offsets fresh in my mind from rewriting the backend of RBI editor; I'll throw a list together, and Gantry can do with that as he pleases. :)

Looked ok to me ... the computer fielding is as bad as usual, or even worse?

Nah, same terrible fielding as before. Nothing different from what I saw...
And sent over any offsets you have and I'll get the RBI Tech page going. Have a small set of data so far...
Threw together a raw, nasty, disgusting text file with all the ROM offsets I could think of, and a bit of instructions.
