i downloaded the NESten emulator and all the rbi games...however, there comes a time where i try to maximize the screen, and everythign moves super slow...then i can hit the button and it goes unplayably fast...is there a way to change the speed...if anyone knows, this would be incredibly helpful...thanks....bban
i hear ya bban but computer tech is not my bag... i am sure someone on this forum will be able to help you out... it might be the emulator you downloaded.
I downloaded FCE Ultra ( I use the emulator so I don't tie up the TV) and RBI Baseball and so far, I have found no problems with it.
You can get it from:
http://fceultra.sourceforge.net/downloads/
Hope this helps.
i want to get it for my lap top but i havent found a controller that will work yet.
I downloaded the emulator and rbi game, they are cool, nothing is quite like the real thing, but will be nice to have for a road trip.
Does anyone know how to use the RBI Baseball Manager thing that you can download, I downloaded it, but dont know how to use it
im not sure about the manager thing, but the new emulator i downloaded worked really really well....i just would also like to find out which kind of controller works....that would make things alot more fun than using the keyboard....
playing with the keyboard is just not going to happen... if i dont have a controller, i dont play.
hey i got a controller yesterday from BEST BUY, works great, I have a laptop, so I got a controller with a USB port hookup, it's called the Gravis GAMEPAD PRO. only 14 dollars, just plugged it in, no disk instalation. I think the controllers that have no disk needed(the plug and play kind) will be easiest to get working.
now all you need is the link so that you can hook up two controllers at once so you and your teammates can play on long roadies.
i will have to look into that controller.
anyone know a good site to download nes game roms?
http://63.226.57.197/theromarchive/roms.html Got this from my little bro. Let me know if it helps
As far as emulators go, Nesticle has always been the cream of the crop, though it is DOS based and I don't think it's worked on much anymore. FCE Ultra seems like a good emu, though I'm not sure if I've used it before or not...
As far as joysticks go, getting them to work depends on the emulator you are using. If your Joystick works on other computer games, then make sure you grab an emulator that uses Direct X. FCE Ultra does use Direct X, so download that if you are having joystick problems. And we have one of those Gravis Gamepad Pro USB joysticks, well worth the $15 or whatever. It'll do everything you need, especially for the NES...
gpines: if you download one of my updated rbi roms from gantry's site here, you should be able to edit them w/o problems. i could never get the manager to work w/ any of the roms i got off the internet. i finally got it to work with an updated rom someone sent me one time (for some reason the manager doesn't work w/ many of the original rbi roms out there). make sure you put the hidden system file you get w/ the manager in your system folder.

i have absolutely no idea what you guys are talking about... i am computer illiterate.
the fce one works great....the sound gets a little messed up when you make the screen bigger, but other than that, its kick ass...the other thing, is that it is exactly what id be looking for...the 2002 teams on the game....same characters...same little men...same game, just new faces...i need to get a controller though...this keypad thing is nasty...
do you think we could write a letter to tengen to have them make the 2002 version or other versions of rbi and sell it to us??....the cost would be low, the design is already there...all they need to do is update the rosters or, this is my dream, give us every season from the first rbi till now, like they kinda do in RBI 3....then we could pick...i dont think i could ask for anything more....they would only have to make like 30 of em...then we could pay them good money....the demand is high...they could hit the jackpot
that would be awsome if they could come up with that but i dont know if any company would put up the capital to do it...
A joystick is a must when using any emulator. Get that $15 Gravis, assuming you have USB...
Have you tried the altered roms on the site yet? There's a doctored 2002 version on there. Haven't tried it myself...

Also, is Tengen still around? I thought they bit the dust, but am not positive about that...
i think they are gone... cause the atari version came out after the nintendo version meaning that tengen sold the rights to atari before they went tits up.
irrregarrrrrdless......the doctored versions kick asss....and someone should make the games for nintendo....High stakes RBI men such as yourself must have some clout in the gaming community
Actually, the Atari version (aka arcade) came out first. Tengen was a division of Atari Games at first (which is how they got the rights), and later became their own company...
oh.... i thought the atari came out after cause they updated some of the players stats... they must have been predicting those numbers.
i think tengen was bought by time warner interactive in the mid-90's. i remember playing dick vitale's sega college hoops game, and the stadiums had ads for rbi baseball in them. i can't think of a game made by that company since the mid-90's, time warner/aol probably has no interest in producing any games. as for the older seasons, they'd have to use fake names or those names like KP Centerfield (kirby puckett) or NR Pitcher (Nolan Ryan) for anybody who's bot currently in the players' union, which would look really dumb, like it did in the later rbi games.
i remember those players... the guys who thought they were bigger than the players union. just like jordan isnt in any basketball games cause he wants extra money to appear.
