What are your favorite matchups with your biggest rivals?
I mentioned before that a friend and I go way back with the Cards/Mets games. Doc K vs. Tudor is an awesome battle - Tudor is especially good against the lefty heavy NY lineup and I think Dayley is a top 3 reliever in the game.
Our second matchup is CA vs. DT. Wilfong tears up their right handed starters.

always good fun.
OC vs everyone else
NYG vs MIA...SF vs CHI.
was vs. min
My RBI buddy growing up and I used the '87 Series matchup a lot... we both liked the Twins, but I loved using St. Louis on the game, so they were my team when we played. In our games, speed beat power.

Hou/SL
This was a fun match up anytime my friend and I used these teams. Great games.
SF-AM and SF-NA was a bitter rivalry that had it's epic moments in Championship games. With me being SF and dominating the regular teams, a rule was made in order to make the games more competitive.
The way we usually wind up playing is that after the first player chooses a team, the team he picked will dictate which team the opponent chooses (or at least the tier). This is not absolute but probably happens slightly more than half the time, with the following match-ups:
Bo vs. Dt
Ca vs. SF
Ho vs. SL
NY vs. Mn
Am vs. Na
Personally I think my favorite is NY vs. Mn in a 7 game series. When you have Bly against the Doctor, it's usually a very tight, low scoring affair, but in the even-numbered games of the series you can see some serious offense. Love mixing it up like that.
Incidentally, I think NY is the only team I usually start a reliever with (in this case Orosco), which I find extends his innings without having anyone powerful up against him by the time he's vulnerable.
Also Bo vs. SL is actually a fun, if very lopsided, match-up.
BO vs. DT seems to be the big one for me
SF vs NY
BO vs CA
DT vs MN
HO vs ST
NA vs AM
DT vs BO
DT vs CA

The People vs. Larry Flynt

Ive come to really enjoy the mid-low tier teams match-ups.
NY vs SF
NY vs MIN
STL vs MIN
those almost always seem to the be the tightly contested games. The match-ups between the big offensive powerhouses are susceptible to some lopsided wins more frequently.
STL vs HOU is fun and all, but far too often it comes down to luck winning those games.
In terms of the top tier teams, im loving me some AL vs NL, and Det vs Cal right now.
Bos vs Det is pass'e.
My friend ALWAYS plays as the Twins. Get the same Viola start + Blylevyn coming after 4-6 innings, every game. Over time, the best matchups have been
StL vs. Mn: Only even matchup. Lots of history, swings back and forth, it usually comes down to the fast running and unexpected production of St. Louis against the heavy hitting lineup of Minnesota... often comes right down to the effectiveness of the pitching. My favorite game is when I was down 7-0 in the 5th inning as the Cards, tied it in the 9th on an inside the park two run homerun after the stray throw by third base... then a walkoff two-out BOP in the 11th
Ho vs. Mn: Nolan Ryan has thrown a perfect game, and has been a dominating pitcher... unfortunately, I've lost at least a half dozen games 1-0 :-/ I've been devastated overall, but it is ALWAYS worth it when I get the win though...
Boston is always fun too... "Rich Gedman, Destroyer of Dreams" has three walkoff homers, and no lead is insurmountable... I do disproportionately well with NY and my worst team is SF... so there can be other fun things, but I always make it much more interesting than I shouuld with the Cards and Twins.

"Rich Gedman, Destroyer of Dreams"
This might be the best thing I've read on the RBI board in months. That's not saying what has come lately sucks...this post is simply fantastic.
