Title: The Hawk
Post by: lancemeister2006 on 12/14/06, 10:34:55 PM
I really like Andre Dawson and I can get about as many hits with him as anybody, but I just really struggle to hit home runs with him.  All his hits are hard grounders up the middles or down the third base line it seems, and in a 9 game season he seems to every time hit maybe 3-5 homers for me.  Anyways, wondering if any of you have the same issue with him, and if you know the reason.  I don't know his power rating,  but for a guy with 49 jacks on the game, his home run power is weak for me.

I think he has the highest power rating in the entire game.  I have no issues hitting tape measure shots with the guy on a consistent basis.  Probably the most dangerous hitter in all the game.

Very, very strange indeed.  I love the guy, and like I said getting hits is no problem, but hitting homeruns on a consistent, game to game basis, very very tough for me.  Maybe it's mental, I put too much pressure on myself to jack some out with him.

its probably because of the ground ball attribute that the game has.   ;)

it's probably because, as a kid, you didn't want to copulate him.

it's probably because he's too right-handed

well honestly the very next game I played with him I jacked two tape measure shots, but for the nine game season he ended with only 3 home runs for me, ED and Murph both had 8 jacks.

THe trajectory of the ball is random so it's just a run of bad luck if you aren't getting Andre to hit the ball in the air

I think it is a problem with his hitting mechanics.

Perhaps he should hire Walt Hriniak or Charlie Lau...

If Hrniak or Lau teach him how to hit, then his average will go up, but his homeruns will go down.

If you can't hit with Hawk, get yourself a slumpbuster, and she can be found her in dee nee......BDawk :D
