Is anyone going to the tournament with the intention of just hanging out "Dee-Nee fest" style and not participating?

I do not understand why exactly this would be fun if you are not actually participating in the tournament. If someone can explain that it would be and nightwulf decides to go, i might.

Yeah but i have sworn off sex until i find the right guy. I have actually been two months without. This is an amazing accomplishment for me, since i usually call the ex and get the deed done. No more sex with the ex is my 2007 slogan.

Just read the thread from JoeD's last tourney. We had an absolutely fucking blast and I'd recommend the experience to anyone and everyone.
I will of course not be attending because there's two of dem.

TBG...Southwest had some kick ass deals to Columbutt lately...$95/way from LAX.
I have no interest in participating in the tournament, but I wouldn't mind going to watch, hang out, play non-tournament games, etc.
But if I were the only person doing so, that'd be silly.
I may go, depends on if i can break free from the family to go.

that's an idea, but by then i'll be living in a no airport zone and would require a three hour drive to get a flight. i'll keep it in mind, though.

As TBT mentioned, the first Columbus tournament was the first "real" Dee-Nee fest. It was fantastic. I don't know if you were around Dee-Nee at that point, but here's some quality reading:

So that's why you'd want to go to a tournament even if you're not participating. I don't know that it's "comfortable" driving distance for you. TBT took a bus last year, so you might check with him about travel time. Depending on the exact route, maybe you could get to Chicago and hitch a ride with that crew, or even with me (and likely Wumpst and Homer) if you go near central IL. malnuboy drove all the way from Boston though!
Ah memories. Seriously, that weekend was one of the best times I've ever had. Just fucking awesome all the way around. I wish I could come out this year.

im in the tourney so im flying out there. the drive to chicago and hitch a ride with gantry or whoever sounds good, but if i played deep into the tourney then theres a chance i couldnt leave columbutt till 6-8 pm. i dont wanna burn up monday as well on the road.
moses, ive been pricing some fares, and from DM to Columbutt is around 230-250 round trip right now.
And by if TBT mean when.
If any Chicago-ites want to make the trip to Indy, GoReds and I could probably take a small detour and pack 3 more in the back of my Sebring, for the rest of the trip.... I would guess thats about half way or so. I am probably wrong though.
