Tonight I'll (or "we'll" if Gantry's around) be updating the forum software. I also hope to dig around and find out what's eating the database every day in the early evening.
This will happen when I find the motivation to do it. Stay tuned for updates.

So I started this ordeal at 4:30 this morning. Previous upgrades have completed in 30-60 minutes.
Now, 15 hours later, I'm done. Apparently this forum is way too large for our server and the upgrade script. Updating the database to mysql strict standards alone took five hours, and I had to babysit it the entire time because anything automated about it timed out after 300 seconds.
Note for Gantry: I have no idea wtf the db server was doing towards the end there. Finally I just restarted it and made modifications by hand from reading the upgrade script. It works ... I think?
There is no chat button. Thread titles are not bold. There are all sorts of ugly icons at the bottom of the screen that will make Gantry cry.
Tough shit. I'm going to bed.

The font on the thread titles look blurry. I know it isn't my eyes and I know it isn't my screen. It is very difficult to look at. FIX IT!

Nightwulf did all the heavy lifting, I was just there to hold hands. Then I went to bed hella early last night and did not have time to fix the little things. I have a 10am meeting with a customer and will do the bold/chat/etc a little after lunch...

No, those are custom changes we make to the software. Any time it's updated, we make them again. Yes, there are benefits. "Internet software" such as this needs to stay current, as cretins are always looking for vulnerabilities and one day you'll wake up with no forum. It's not your eyes, it's not your screen, it is your inability to read.
Anyway, the chat button is back, and I'll work on making it flash when people are chatting. The bold thread titles are back, and the icons at the bottom have magically disappeared, so Gantry must be awake too.

The 'chat' button now flashes if there's anyone in chat. I'll work on getting the list of who's chatting later ...
