Yes, this is my first post and I'll make it useful here by reporting what looks to be a damn weird and damn challenging glitch for RBI Baseball. I take NO credit for discovering this glitch, it was recently posted to GameFAQs and the person listed below is the discoverer. Contact him for any info:
"Glitch Team
In 1p mode, first, select the National All-Stars. Then select to play American league all stars. after the game with the American league, you will play the glitch team. Beware, this game will be an ass kicking. If your NES or emulator last through the game, you can play a better glitch team. Watch out for the 150 mile an hour pitches

As an RBI fan that regularly isn't really that challenged by 1P mode (And sadly doesn't live near any avid RBI fans), I find this to be a great challenge to all. I tested this on my rom but it doesn't work but upon further inspection I do have a different revision of the rom which might be the cause for problem. If anybody can recreate this with a different rom version or on an NES, share your experience!

... it was recently posted to GameFAQs ...
It's not your version of the ROM. It's the fact that nothing good has ever come out of GameFAQs. These are the same people who perpetuate the "pinch hitters whose names start with 'H' hit better" bullshit.
Welcome chicobo and thanks for the post! As nightwulf was saying, the problem with this "glitch" is that it pertains only to one person's ROM file and not RBI itself. It clearly sounds like whoever posted this had a corrupt ROM file, which may or may not be widely available. Either way, a glitch with a screwed up file is really more of a computer/file issue than an RBI issue...
If you're looking for a good 1-player challenge, try out Briznock's Heaven vs. Hell ROM, which is available on my ROMs page (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/roms/). That is just about the toughest fight you can have against the computer. Give it a whirl...
I think i am going to update the Heaven vs Hell ROM and add dead RBIers to whichever team seems the best fit..
chicobo329 should just edit a ROM with 150 mph pitchers and such using Nightwulf's editor if he just wants the same challenge as the glitch he spoke of.

chicobo329 should just ignore what I said, as I'm clearly an idiot...
Well in that case, do I have enough grounds to notify GameFAQs that this is a bad code? If so, I can cite you guys as debunking this and I'll have it put down.
My best guess as to why is the placement of the teams. The National League team is the last on the list and the American League team is second to last. The person that reported this glitch probably had something wrong with his rom or cartridge which made the game have the next played as National League whereas normally it would skip over and go to California.
i think the bottom line here is that any info you find on gamefaq's regarding rbi is worthless.
How do you get to the super teams on RBI III (II?)
What is RBI II?
It's the version where you don't really know what to do, so you just hit and field and don't actually pitch.

Beat all the teams in the same league as the team you're using - I don't know whether you get to play them if you lose any games. You can't play the super team if you play an AL-NL matchup, or if you use (or play against) one of the '83-'89 teams in RBI 3, as those result in a 7-game series instead of an original RBI-style "season".
I once posted the password to play the Tengen team in RBI 3 using the Cubs... I'll try to dig up that thread for you.
EDIT: Here's that thread (http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=6843.0)
