id have to go with the double plays,
Seeing Joedirt cheat...
I think the best part about RBI, including unrealistic monster shots (that's probably not even on my top 10) is the realism of the game, in comparison to real MLB. Seriously.
The beauty is in the simplicity.
The magic bat of Pat Sheridan
The Astroturf.
the hot dog vendors
John Kruk looks so realistic.
The music.
the raving fans
the weather
the chicks
bum bum ba dum bum.......
The balance of good and evil.
Wallzies
Blowjobs
The Pettis hit with Vince Coleman.
a tie between the tettleton and the gloryhole.
the glitches...tiny pitcher specifically
also the way the catcher chucks the ball behind his back instead of turning around to throw home
my favorite part is when you hit a long foul that bounces off where the wall would be if it continued into the stands, and then bops the crowd.

I love that as well.

me three!
The actual player names & statistics. Or the "Tettleton." The Tettleton seems to give hitters that extra oomph to hit those monster shots.
The glory hole is up there.
hitting a triple on the first pitch of the game and running around the bases with no music.

Or a HR for that matter
Watching the fielders throw the ball with either hand depending on which direction their target is. I wish I could do that.
the're amphibious
Use of (ping) aluminum bats.
Maybe that's why the ball goes a long way when hit, I never thought of that.
The fast moving general play of the game.
Quick 13-15 minute games which end up 1-0 in a pitchers duel.
The control of your pitches.
How the proper use of the control pad and buttons can become a huge asset.
Taking that extra base.
Throwing the knuckle drop to get a huge K.
The double steal.
Taking a grounder with the third baseman and running across the mound and throwing a seed at the last second to make it a bang-bang play. I like to do this with the shortstop as well.
Throwing the ball to second base before throwing the slow runner out at first....work on your double plays in any situation with nobody on and a ground ball by an Armas or of the like.
Throwing out Coleman or Raines.
Diving catches at the wall.
Using your cut off guy on a long relay to nail the runner out at third or home.
The feeling of hitting a monster shot and staring at the firework show is maybe the most euphoric thing in the universe.
It's not Major League Baseball (NES game).
It's fun hitting homers in it, but the screen blacks out for 2-3 seconds for every hit, which totally sucks. Grounders come to a complete stop very quickly, the movement on the screen is very jerky when the ball is hit. It's more fun setting the lineups than playing the actual game.
I also love the long silent homeruns in R.B.I. (Especially on the first pitch. There's always music playing the rest of the game obviously.
Huh? What did I say?
Heh heh.
It's the fkn major leagues...no aluminum bats. Get with it, man!
Well they do use them, don't they? Same for Bases Loaded, but I don't like that game as much.
Ok, it's not a best part of the game, but it still makes it fun.
No, they use wood bats. Duh.
