also, if you're sharing a room with Dickflood, make sure you've got him on your reservation so he can check in. After I pick you up, you won't be making it over to your hotel until that night.
The Double Secret Guest will be arriving around 2. He is also staying at the Union Station location, keep an eye out...

it's our time. Our time down here.
-driving
-arriving 1-2 PM
-slumbering @ union station W/ jim-reds
-wearing summers eve douche t-shirt friday night cause rdub said its OK.
-drinking from flask strategically placed in pocket during reception when people start to get shitty.
-possibly sneaking in a couple bottle of my finest boones farm wine for the reception(for consumption during the later hours of that shindig)
good times ahoy.
So....the reception....Open Bar? Cash bar? Just planning...
me thinks its open...if not we'll just need to bring some roofies.
4 hours of open bar.. reception is from 6 to 11, bar shuts down for dinner.

Dinner is when we hide our 30 packs of bud light under the table.
usually they'll keep serving the wedding party during dinner but I'm not sure. We will definitely have a cooler Saturday afternoon.
Are the in-laws footing most of the bill for this shindig? If so...how much?
How much do most weddings cost? I figure we are running in the 50K range. In-laws paying 20k, my parents shelled out about 10K, we're covering about 20K.
We tried to keep ours low since we still had a couple years of college left - I think somewhere around $12,000.
25-30k, her parents picking up 97% of it.

30K for a wedding boggles my fucking mind. You can do a LOT of cool shit with 30K that doesn't involved spending a day in a tux.
My goodness, I think altogether we spent 1000.00 dollars on my wedding

This was the range we spent also, but we paid for it all ourselves
I'll be heading over to the Union Station hotel at around noon.
YES.

Hey... My wedding turned out beautiful. We were only 18 and couldnt afford to do much. We also could not do an open bar (since we were under age)and did a small reception at the church, then went back to my moms and celebrated. So we saved a shit ton of money on not having a real reception.
I also think i ate fazoli's for dinner.
The half assed reception at the church, followed by a big party later is highly underrated.
We went that route since we had a lot of older conservative types in both families. We served mostly snack food, hung out for an hour or two, then hit up the after party where we proceeded to pour alcohol down our throats like it was our fkn job and play football in our tuxes.
Given that and the fact that we were able to get one of the area's nicer churches for free because, even though I hadn't been in years, my ancestors helped start it so we were able to knock out a pretty nice wedding for only a few grand.
Married in Vegas by an Elivs impersonator, reception at the ESPNZone in NY, NY. I enjoyed it and encourage all to do it the same. We saved a ton of money by doing this way. We both decided we didnt want the big wedding and spent the rest of the money to gamble with while we were out there.
I also learned some math that weekend.........
ME winning big + HER losing big = WE are even
Hows that work????
I sadly could not drink.
But we had a blast gambling with the shit ton of money we received in cards at the casino in MN. I too lost big and he won huge. We left MN with more money than we came with.

our wedding was around $40,000 including photo, video, flowers, food, drink, place, dj, etc. The bill was split evenly between us, my parents, her parents. there was about 170 people there.
$20,000
Her parents paid for most of it. I covered my bestman/groomsmen tuxes/hotel/weed.
I'd have beaten my wife senseless if she suggested an expensive wedding. She'd have done the same to me if I'd had suggested one.
At most, we spent $2500 on our wedding. The catering was done as a gift to my wife --- it's good to have a family friend in the catering business. My mother in law made the bridesmaid dresses. I paid half (maybe more, can't recall) of the tux bill for the groomsmen. Flower arangements were done by the mother in law (she has talent).
If my daughter comes to me wanting an expensive wedding, I'll calmly explain to her that she needs to either marry a rich guy or win the lottery. No way in hell am I paying for something that expensive. Like Nacho said, there is so much more you could do with that money --- namely save it.
