Certainly cool.  Were you able to change the dimensions and the height of the wall for game purposes, i guess it's not 100% clear from the video.

It can't really be taht hard to find a way to put all 30 teams with season mode and stat tracking and have all the stadiums can it....

They do it on games now and have fkn AAA, AA and A squads....

It looks like you did a lot of low-level graphic and tile work to get the images you have. What programs did you use to do it?

Amazing work.

Did you have to replace some of the alphabet to get Matsuzaka's name to fit in there?

Also, how is the "side throw" different from regular sidearm pitching?  Or does it only throw sidearm when you do the Up+A pitch?  I couldn't tell from the video.

It looks like a normal sidearm motion for the first half of the windup and just a higher release point.

Also, did you add a gyroball to Dike-K?

It is easy to change the dimensions and the height of the wall.
I am using 'Stirling'.

There are only the half data of wall.
The Shape of the stadium has to be symmetry.
I think that it is hard to make strange shape stadium.

00009F53 - 00009F6E  The outfield of the wall.
00009F6F - 00009F8A  The infield of the wall.

0000E9A9 The outfield of the wall. (Flat part)
0000E9D5 The infield of the wall. (Flat part)

0000EA2E - 0000EA31 The height of the outfield wall.
0000EA32 - 0000EA36 The height of the infield wall?

I am not sure 'The Height of the wall'. Because it's hard to see.

so are you saying you can change the distance of the outfield wall from homeplate?  and you could make a "Green Monster" around the entire outfield?

isn't the ips file a patch for the regular rom.  If so, can't you just patch it with Nestool?

I think there's only one stadium on the ROM, so home stadiums for all 8 teams would require 8 separate ROMs.  I guess it's possible that we could figure out a way to store the extra stadium data in some of the unused space of the ROM and patch it in on the fly, but that seems like a lot of extra work, and I don't know how much extra RAM the NES has available for that, or whether it would require processing every single time a fence is displayed.

Babe Ruth is hiding as the last player on the bench for the '98 Yankees.  Bench Chad Curtis and go with Ruth.  Ruth is a decent player.  By the way, you should have gone with the '97 Yankees to show what Irabu really did when he came to MLB.  What a waist of money!

players of note

Ichiro - 160 spd
Posednick - 656 pwr
Pujols - 879 pwr
Bonds - 951 pwr
A.Rodriguez - 144 spd
B.Ruth - 855 pwr

pitchers seem to have "arcade" type stuff for the most part.  Peavy is filthy
Babe Ruth is hiding as the last player on the bench for the '98 Yankees.  Bench Chad Curtis and go with Ruth.  Ruth is a decent player.  By the way, you should have gone with the '97 Yankees to show what Irabu really did when he came to MLB.  What a waist of money!

i hope this was a pun and not bad spelling.

Do you have intentions on other stadiums?  Fenway, wrigley, etc?

Honestly, I don't think the ivy would be much extra work - you'd just have to change the wall graphic to include an ivy pattern.

i started a game, boston vs california.  when cali came to bat, i subbed out Clemens for Hurst.  Pettis moved to the right side of the plate when Hurst came in.  Basically he somehow programmed it to switch as a batter would in real life.

Title: Re: New RBI Baseball
Post by: TβG on 08/24/08, 11:16:35 PM
i noticed some pixelation on my pitcher (corbett) when he was pitching to one batter.  it made him sidearm, then back to overhand the next batter.

also, if you're changing the switch-hitters, you might want to fix brett and make him the lefty he truly was, and also anyone else who is in the game on the wrong side of the plate.  overall, a good update.  nice work.

Title: Re: New RBI Baseball
Post by: achildprodigy on 10/15/08, 06:51:55 PM
1. Nightwulf's editor for all player's names and stats.
2. hex editor and nes graphic editor for all team's color, name, error and logo.

Because I changed addresses for 15 teams, you can't change team's color, name, error and logo with Nightwulf's editor.
See more details for new addresses in RBI Baseball 15 Teams doc.

You can use only 20 characters for team's logo, actually you need 30 characters for 15 teams.
Original rom: Logo = (1 team x 2 characters) x 10 teams = 20 characters

Title: Re: New RBI Baseball
Post by: TβG on 10/17/08, 11:41:57 AM
from playing his roms in the past, the pitching animation is different with the arm flying out to the side rather than more underneath compared to the "submarine" pitchers.  as a result, the angle at the release point is farther out to the side, so it certainly effects where you look as a batter and where you set up in the batter's box.

All the way down to the extensions at third and first.  Those were there prior to the recently installed new field.

The wells in left and right --- how the hell did you do that?

The off center scoreboard --- sweet!

Baskets on the fence and flags on the yellow foul poles and you'll have it. .  . . . . .no complaints at all.  This is fun stuff.

Amazing.......

Is there a way I can take the ROM and edit it so that I have my rosters from my All-Time World Series Champion ROM here?

I'll make 10 ROMS, one for each team, then Ruth can hit at the House that He Built, Tinker can go Evers to Chance in Wrigley.........

So how about it, prodigy?

My teams are:
1908 Cubs (Wrigley's done already.....)
1913 A's- Shibe Park
1927 Yankees (Yankee Stadium's done too....)
1934 Cardinals- Sportsman's Park aka Busch Stadium I
1954 Giants- The Polo Grounds
1965 Dodgers- Dodger Stadium
1975 Reds- Riverfront Stadium
1986 Mets- Shea Stadium
1991 Twins- The Metrodome (ooooohhhhh- how WOULD you make a dome......?)
2004 Red Sox- Fenway Park

Those are some great stadiums- please prodigy?

Help us, or tell us how?

Who else thinks that would be awesome?

At this point in my life with a new kid, it'd likely be something very crude, e.g., upload a CSV file to a webpage I make that would spit out achildprodigy's ROM with your updated rosters...

If you're here childp and want to give me some info on this, it'd help to have knowledge of where the player data is and how the switch hitter stuff works...
Title: Re: New RBI Baseball
Post by: BeefMaster on 02/04/10, 08:54:13 AM
I haven't gotten a chance to try this out... does the switch hitter code detect whether it's a lefty or righty pitcher, or do you pause and switch-hit, like in RBI 2 & 3?  If it's the latter, I wonder if he managed to patch some of the code in from those games, perhaps also for the national anthem.

So are you saying they are the same as nightwulf's? I'll match it up and confirm. If so, the old editor I wrote will work. I'll check it out.

Also, can you post the code for your switch hitter hack? That's freaking awesome.

thank you so much, achildprodigy!  the rbi universe is nearing completion.  this is so awesome.

also, on this new rom he posted, the 10th team is a HOF squad (blacked out on the selection screen).

Batter data stored in the following format:
- 00: player number (00-0B)
- 01-06: player name
- 07: R/L/S handed (00=R, 01=L, 02=S)
- 08: batting average 1
- 09: home runs
- 0A: contact
- 0B-0C: power (2 bytes, high/low bytes reversed)
- 0D: speed
- 0E: batting average 2
- 0F: Unused

that's not the switch hitter code??

Yes, but that won't work by itself if I want to use it in a another ROM. I need the code that processes what to do with the switch value.

Sweet! I'll look into adding this to my 2010 ROM.  Did you see my question that I PM'd you about the dirt graphics you made?  I was wondering if you were able to draw that continuous dirt basepaths on there as is, or did you have to hack some code to make it so that you could use more tiles for the dirt? I tried copying some of your tiles over, but it didn't quite fill in everything and left a lot of stray tiles...

For changing the stadium,
I'm just using  Hex editor and NES graphic editor.

NES graphic editor

I'm sorry it's hard to explain, please check the doc.
Thank you.

I know how to hack graphics, I just wasn't able to make the dirt fill in like you did, wondered if you had to write some code to make it happen, or if you were just able to do it without any coding tricks.

Any chance you could hve me the offsets on the tiles that need some changing?

Used to be on these boards a few years back quite a bit as WClark, but I forgot my password. Registered again now since i seen this forum but can not find the rom with the stadiums.

If anyone can send me the Wrigley, Yankee Stadium and all the other stadium roms it would be greatly appreciated. I got back into it once i got a psp and put RBI on it. Please, if anyone can help send the roms to Kruze35@gmail.com

Thanks again

Someone made Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium. I forget where they're from, but I got the RBI ROMs that have those stadium hacks.  But you can't edit the player names or anything like that with Turd's editor. Plus I think the rosters are a few years old. However, the game plays pretty much like the original RBI.

If you're interested I can post them up so people can download it again.

This rom has a stadium which is a little bit like Fenway. I'm pretty sure there is another rom which has been fully hacked with a couple stadiums. I'm pretty sure I got it from dee-nee years ago. I can't find it now.
