Title: rbi board on ebay
Post by: ericdavisfan on 03/09/04, 01:15:20 PM
Hey guys,

I took a peek in on ebay today and noticed that they have an rbi arcade "circuit board" for auction.  It also include the marquee for the top of a machine that someone could put together.  As mechanically/technically inclined as some of you are, I thought this might get someone the ground work for RBI arcade at home.  The bid is only at $15.  Shipping is $9, but that's nothing compared to shipping an entire machine.  Here's the link:

WOW MA, the closest I've seen to me (NYC). Too bad I'm really hurting for cash or I would pick it up.

Anyone know how much shipping costs for these things?

NIghtwulf or marquis must buy that circuit board thing and make it work.

Actually I had thoughts on building an arcade game. Actually it would be a MAME machine, with joysticks & everything. Then I went unemployed.

The good thing about  that board is if you buy it you're legally allowed to play the emulator of the arcade rom on Mame.

Why do you think I own a MK2 arcade board?

Seriously. :)

I can't believe no one has bid on the machine, it's still sitting at $100 with 11 hours to go.  Anyone in the Northeast, what happened to all the NYC players.  If I lived within driving distance, I'd buy it for $100 and I already have a stand up.

I'm thinking the same thing.  We have the stand up at my friends house already but I'm going to put serious thought into going after this one if no one else bids on it.  We drove to NYC to pick one up last summer, a spring break road trip to Massachusetts may be good times.

Just get some cheap bar stools, I got a couple at Target last week for like $15 each.

I'm a little confused on this one.  It's a double stand-up arcade game?  If it's really only 100 bucks, I may have to splurge and get this fuckin thing.  Shipping would probably run about 400 bucks out to Phoenix, right?  I'm gonna call the wife right now.

No it's not a stand up, it's the sit down one, what ever the hell you call it.  The guy has a Top Gun Board in the other half.

I tried to e-mail the seller for a ballpark figure on shipping costs.  I haven't heard back from him.  I looked at his feedback and it wasn't very good.  He's only sold 1 other thing on ebay.  For $100, you can hardly go wrong, but I'm just giving a heads up to anyone who might decide to bid on the machine.  It looks relatively nice, and if I didn't live in Indiana, I'd maybe take a crack at it!

I live in MA, just outside of Boston. I am seriously going to bid on this machine. I've been looking for one forever.

Even though its the sit down, it still seems pretty money. Has anyone here ever played this version. Is it the same as the stand-up arcade or the NES version?

Just wondering...Thanks.

I was just looking at the machine again, and it states that it is made by Nintendo.  Is this accurate?  I thought Atari did the arcade version?!?  It would probably be cool either way, but I think some of the fun of the arcade version is the "all-time teams."  If its a Nintendo version, it may not have the "arcade teams"

I've never played a sit down, but I'm 99% sure it is Arcade teams, same as stand up machine.

Yeah, it's got to be Arcade because it is the one Gantry has, see pictures:

The front view picture link doesn't work, but the rest do.

Dammit, I went to the gym tonight and completely forgot about it.  And it goes off for the opening bid of $100, unbelievable.  I hope it was somebody from here who ended up getting it.  It would be a damn shame if somebody out there picked it up just cause they wanted to play some Top Gun.

My wife was on EBay watching the bidding up to the last five minutes.  When it looked like it wasn't gonna get picked up for anything crazy, she entered a bid but the computer froze up and she had to reboot.  By the time she could get back into it, the bidding was over and somebody else got it for a measly hundred dollars.  Maybe I'm not destined to have and RBI Arcade.  It'll happen.  I'm not giving up hope.

Looks like SeitzerorFranco got it, so at least it was an RBIer.

Don't give up Mclane, eventually you'll find one close by for not to much, eventually.

I would be extremely cautios on this auction if the seeler has only sold one item.  Make sure you e-mail him about hte auction before you bid.  If yhe doesnt e-mail you back...don't bud.

Yeah, I hear ya. I live 30 minutes from Plymotuh, MA-where the seller is from. I sent him a couple emails and have yet to get a reply. I'm not plannning on cutting any checks, obviously, until I hear from him. In fact, I told him that I would pick it up at his place and give him the cold hard cash in person. That way we are both sure on the transaction.

Definitely a good idea.
Even though it's kinda shady, I'm still very jealous.

Still no reply from the seller. I'm getting frustrated. I'm so close, but getting very suspicious.

SeitzerorFranco-
Did you ever get the machine?

No, man. I've sent the seller five emails and have yet to get a response. I am going to contact the EBAY people and tell them what is up. I can't stand getting jerked around like this.

It looks like he just got a negative response from someone that won a bid for a Guitar and then he never got in touch with them.  Doh, that sucks for you.

I just got the dude's phone number from the EBay people. I can't wait to hear his excuse when he picks up the phone and I tell him who he is.
