Really been struggling, if he continues like this, he may not got a contract for next season (when he turns 50). Only 5 games from hitting 2500 Games played.

Pretty sure he hit a 3 run bomb against the DBacks.
Word is he can no longer catch up to the fastball. I suspect he won't survive the year.
Word is your face can't catch up to the fastball.
Clemens debut today added his link to the first post

Clemens rocked giving up 9 hits and 8 runs (only 3 earned) in an inning and two thirds
Has anyone picked up Julio yet? The Twins' only decent bench bat is their backup catcher - maybe they should pick him up. No one would miss Luis Rodriguez - they've got Punto and Cirillo to back up in the infield.
And with Rondell's personal problems....Julio would be a fantastic pick up.
Plus, they could really use a reliable backup first baseman, Cuddy and Luis Rodirguez can't keep playing, and Morneau could probably benefit from an off day every now and again.
Let's get Terry Ryan on the phone and get this done.
I have floated the proposal in the Twins blogosphere (http://twinkietown.com/story/2007/8/2/161143/5186)... we'll see what the internet's armchair GMs have to say about this.
"Twinkie Town"? Really?
not any more lame than ho-ho houston or ding dong detroit.

"Twinkie Town"? Really?
Yes, unfortunately. I hate the name, too, but it is a good site.
You should've started a petition, those always work!!

Julio is going to play for the Braves AAA team. Couldn't find internet confirmation, but today's Chicago Tribune reported that Julio has agreed to stay with the Braves in exchange for a guarantee that he will be called up BEFORE Sept 1 so that he will be on the postseason roster.
If it's the Rome Braves, it's single A, sadly though they're in the opposite division from our Sally League team (where Darky played).
Julio back with the Braves

Will either play in 2008? Both currently FAs, at this point neither is likely I'd have to say
so who officially played in the latest major league game this year?
I don't remember but I assume Clemens pitched a post season game
oh, yeah
didn't he get shelled?
I voted yes for the Twins getting Franco via Beefy's link, I suggest you all do the same because he's down 10 votes. Make it happen!
Oh sorry, didn't know there was another Clemens/Franco topic, I guess I'll have to post here now too....I usually only check the first 2 pages of topics.
Clemens might be done now. But he doesn't need to prove anything anymore. He was a Hall of Famer beginning over 10 years ago. Franco can still hit, Jesus Christ just let the guy play at least half a season!!!! Had he not gotten hurt and missed most of 1992, and not missed those couple years in the mid/late 90s playing ball in Mexico or wherever it was, he might have reached 3,000 hits.
Minnie Minoso was 57 in 1980 when he made his final out, but in just one at-bat.
Julio might be done. (http://deadspin.com/386557/sadly-julio-franco-cannot-play-forever)

I guess it's official
Tragic.
Wow, that day is finally upon us. Has Clemens "officially" retired?
Well it looks like Clemens is the winner. I was shocked when I heard Julio hung 'em up. Roger officially didn't retire, he could still come back & pitch a few games. If I were that close to 5,000 Strikeouts I'd continue to play.....
Clemens will officially be the last RBI'er to retire, when he officially retires. Hah.
