Title: RBI handidness
Post by: RockRaines4life on 03/30/04, 12:42:14 PM
Did a little investigation into whether RBI players are RH or LH in the field.
-unless diving, all players catch the ball with their right hand, leading one to believe they are left handed
-when diving, players can catch with either hand
-players can throw with either hand depending on the angle

questions:  are all RBI players ambidexterous?  and if so, do they not wear gloves or do they just do the jim abbott move to catch and throw with the same hand?

This is some good research. If they are, why don't they hit from both sides. Isn't it easier to learn to hit from the other side than it is to throw?

It is kinda strange because you're right about them throwing with either hand.  If only they could all be switch hitters.  The Hawk as a lefty = scary beyond imagination.

Well done RockRaines, this may have to be a FAQ question.  All RBI'ers are ambidextrous, I like it...
