Title: RBI IS OVERRATED
Post by: McFly Kinda Guy on 02/02/08, 12:12:59 PM
Hey guys,

RBI is a great game. A fine game infact. But it is overratted. I mean look at all the new, aweseome baseball games on XBOX 360 and even Wii...they are so much better then RBI Baseball!! I think RBI Baseball needs an update.

I think it is unfair to compare modern games to RBI. Controllers are different, everything is different.

I think it is unfair to compare modern games to RBI. Controllers are worse, everything is worse.

Yeah, but I stopped playing video games when they started putting too many buttons on them.

i bought power pros, but the upgrading system seemed inordinarily complicated.  do you have to mess around with that, or will players improve on their own through playing?

Yeah, that didnt traslate well from the Jap version. I got all my guys practicing on one skill or another and have had only 2 upgrades.(Im in late May on my season) Not sure if Im doing it right.

I dont worry too much about it now. The gameplay kicks ass.

In Power Pros, wait til  you can get the 30k or 50k updates (like baseball bat)

So, let's say you get the 30k (or even better, 50k, but it's due later in the season) Contact bat, then put all your guys in contact practice. They'll jump a lot quicker. IF you have the 50k bat, all your guys can have A contact by the end of the season.

You can just put them in auto and they'll go slowly and keep up with the computer.

Also: just load a guy from success mode (just grab a password online) into season mode onto a decent team (not an expensive one though), sim most of the season, playing just enough games to get to the post season. Win the world series and save, and you can buy "Arrange Teams". Then just go into my data and edit players, make a custom team of your favorites (and make arrange teams of the other teams if you wanna make sure guys are only on one team). Voila, screw the upgrade system.

Do you happen to have a PS2 save with all of that done?

Fuck this thread.

And if you want season mode... Do what I do.  Keep a score book.
