I stumbled on this site, and it's rekindled my love for RBI (granted, it makes me feel OLD :P ). Anyhoo, I read the glossary of terms and noticed there was an occurence not listed. I shall describe it for you and give my submission for a name.
As most of you know, the music stops between the game start and the first pitch. It's a minor thing, but I consider it a special event to hit a homer during the silent time. I consider it even more special (albeit easier) to do it with an immediate substitiution. So for the page's approval, I submit the SHD Homer. (SHD=Silently-hit Dinger).
Thank youf for your time and opinion (or apathy). May I become one with the game and find the bliss-in-a-cart.
It's got potential! ;D
I like it G-Funk, I'll add it shortly...
Nice! My friends and I always talked about that too but never had a name for it.
Building off SHD I kind of like Silent but Deadly for the description. I'll add it as a footnote after the real def...
Actually, SBD was my first idea for a name, but it sounded too obvious. And thankfully I don't have enough of an ego to ask it to be named after me. ;D (Yay, I'm a well-known unknown once again! :D)
I too have always put special stock in the silent homer. Nothing but the crack of the short bat and the sailing of the ball. One of my favorite RBI moments. Either name is pretty good.
SHD has been added to the glossary...
