This one is for Sperling....
Ha ha, that's pretty tight.
Last year it was Harry Spilman for $5 but this year I decided to spend a little extra...
Well worth every penny spent. Brookens is one of my favorite players and on my favorite team. :)
That is so fucking awesome.
Nice work Gantry.
I was checking out what was involved in sponsoring and on the FAQ they have this:
If my player pulls a nutty and belts an umpire, can I switch in mid-year?
Generally, we will not allow switching, but you can e-mail us if a special case comes up.
Man if your player belts an umpire just think about how many hits your site is going to get, why would you want to change?

Why is/was Brookens more expensive than Home Run Harry?
I think Baseball Reference figures out prices based on how popular a cetain player's page is. Since Brookens pages gets xxx more hits than Spilman's, he is $10 while Harry is $5. The major stars reach into the triple-digit...
The harry spilman page is what brought me to this site. I went to Harry Spilman's page and I saw the add. The rest is history.

$5 well spent, Gantry.
Bravo Gantry, Bravo.
LOL...... I thought that somebody was going to say that they would pay $5 for me to leave.
Wow, I can't believe that good ol' Spilman got me a regular Dee-Nee member! Solid, might have to sponsor a couple more pages then...
Harry Spilman is the man!!!
I think you've explained it before, but why were you looking up Harry Spilman?
I play sim baseball at whatifsports.com and I was looking at his numbers for a twist team that I was doing for that game. Harry is a useful player because he has some years in which he was a good pinch hitter who happened to play a handful of games at catcher. That makes him a useful bench player in the whatifsports.com baseball sim in some leagues.
...and he's a perfect replacement for JUribe...what a turd.
I may have mentioned it before but I definitely have to give props to Gantry and the Dee-Nee site for enlightening me about the legendary skills of Harry Spilman. I had played RBI since it came out and never used him because of his stats until I heard about him here and gave him a shot. Jose Uribe hasn't had a plate appearance since.
I agree. I only used him on rare occassions. I also finally buckled and left Brookens in the game. I'm very impressed.
Better than SOLID!
Though subbing Bergman was a great move the other day, this site doesn't sponsor him. TB will not be subbed again!
What happened??
Jose Canseco's page is available for just $210.
For the more frugal investor, Ruppert Jones's page can be had for only $15.
