I just got my arcade machine and when playing one player the game will end sometimes after 1 or 2 innings. How do i get the game to play all the way to the 9th....... I thought i had 9 credits in.

Didn't it give you the option of continuing your current game, by pushing 1/2 player button?
On ours, the game ends anytime the computer gets the lead which is pretty annoying. I'm not sure if there is anyway that it can be changed. It's not that big a problem because it's not like it's that often that you're getting beat by the CPU anyway but it definitely would be nice if there was a way to do something about it.
good point.......if the Computer is winning...i guess the game should end...... , 2 players is awesome though on RBI Arcade...what a game.....

Baines is completely right, the game only ends when you are losing to the computer. You'll also get a kick out of the hockey-esque "tie" after 9 innings....
Updated the arcade page to list those facts:

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the volume on the stand up arcade game in the vs. cabinet. Ours is so loud you can hear it halfway down the block and we couldn't find a way to adjust it so we just turned it off completely.
I'm not sure if there is, I disconnected my speaker right away. Here is a text file of the game's internals I found awhile back:

Bains....On the arcade machine I have , I can take off the panel in the back and inside the back on the right hand side about half way up and in about half an arms length is the volume control. There are 5 white knobs on mine where i can raise the volume up and down, adjust the screen vertically and horizontilly and another to adjust the brightness of the screen. Let me know if you find the buttons on yours.

Thanks, we'll have to check it out. It would be great to be able to hear the sound at a level we don't have to scream over.
