Title: New wallzie?
Post by: Dryden on 04/20/04, 02:07:46 PM
Saw one today I'd never seen before...

Unlike the standard, line drive, through the wall type, my batter hits a long deep fly right along the foul line.  Literally, it traced the foul line all the way out, I figured it gets blown foul for sure.  But no!  It came to the wall and hit about the same spot a long fly double off the wall would, but sure enough, gets called a homer.

Anyone else had this one?

I believe I've seen this happen to, I remember thinking no way it stays fair.

No... not at all. That is a new one to me.  I bet you can find that someplace on the net... whatever it is. Glitch maybe?

I don't believe that was a glitch.  I've seen that HR, too.

I've seen that before as well - in fact, when I picture a wallzie, I picture a baseline-tracing fly ball, usually to the opposite field.

I've seen fly balls trace the foul line in RBI 3 as well - however, I don't recall seeing a wallzie in that game.  In fact, the longest hit I'ver seen in RBI 3 (475 ft., by Ryno) was straight down the line.

Yeah I've seen a few of those but definitely not as common as the line drive variety.
