Title: Clemens & Franco
Post by: Metal King on 04/22/08, 10:16:48 PM
So are they finally done? They both played in 2007, so if neither one plays in 2008, which one would be the last RBI'er to finally retire? Or would it be a tie? I guess you'd have to look at who played the latest last year.

Clemens could come back, Franco's turning 50 this year, who knows.....

Someone do the work and find out the official last played stats.  Are both officially retired?  It's obvious that Clemens will never play again after all the steroid stuff, but not sure about Franco...

Julio Franco last played September 17th, Clemens on September 16th.

Surprisingly, Julio's team had a better record in games he appeared in

Didn't Clemens get his ass kicked in October?

Yep - he started one game against the Indians in the ALDS and only made it 2 1/3 innings.

Since the ALDS didn't exist before 1995, that appearance doesn't count.

Duh.

Franco is playing in Mexico currently.  He played in 07 until like September I believe.
