i just played a game of curve w/ a guy on the east coast and i nearly wept... NO LAG
IM me if you have any questions setting-up the emulator or if you'd like to play a game
AIM: rdleifriaf
i would like to put together an online invite-only league... curve pitch, two sp, original rom, draft of players, use my league site, and run the forum off of dee-nee w/ permission.
the league site would be http://www.callmefairf.com/nes/rbi/
let me know if you'd be interested.
if you want to play me we have to have to same rom-- get yours from dee-nee if you want to try out for the league or try out online play
http://www.dee-nee.com/rbi/roms/rbi-sameteam-2ppause.zip
biggest development in perhaps all of online rbi history and i get 30 views and no responses?
LOL
I think because it was mentioned over at the online section. That being said it is a great find and really works. Couple leagues starting in next couple weeks.
so no one want to even try out for my league?
I would love to try it, had I more free time - I can't commit to a regular RBI Baseball night, unfortunately. However, I may be up for a game or two sometime, during one of my occasional late nights of computer gaming. Usually, that's a Monday or Tuesday... I'll try to make sure I'm on AIM and MSN, and maybe Dee-Nee chat as well.
How many games and how often for this league? I'd probably be down but I'm not sure how many games a week I would want to commit...
How much lag is there?

It really has hardly any lag. I've played about 15 games and have not notice it at all.
hahahaha.
i'm always up for games, but who knows if im up for a league or not.
and i hate to be a flaker.
would like to roll w/ 10 teams and have home/away games so a total of 18 games in the season plus playoffs
there are about 5 guys in the ellensburg league that i think would be good enough to do the online league and would be interested (myself, phil, jared, brandon, and possibly devin, brandon, and nick)
all that you have to do to get into the league is try out online and commit to getting your stuff in
i just played JoeDirt and beat him 4-1 as houston against st. lou in a keyboard vs. keyboard game. both of us are looking forward to getting our controllers working. joe you can be in the league if you want.... just let me know
I refuse to believe that Joedirt doesn't have a controller.
In fact, I know for a fact that he uses the retro controller.
he couldn't figure out how to set it up in nestopia... i'm borrowing a USB to NES controller converter from a buddy and plan on figuring it out within the week
Well, if JoeDirt's in, I'm in.
But the whole "try out" thing is pretty lame.
If Attez is in, then I am in.

sorry... i don't want rookies like you in the league that i can ten run in one inning...
Cute.
nomaaa and I are attempting to set up a game... updates as they become available.

he probably pretending it didn't work and said he was using the keyboard, then used the controller to wallop on The Express. In JoeDirt's world, this is known as a "competitive advantage"
beef and i played a game of straight pitch. honestly nothing new from jnes.
"literally" must mean "okay there is, but a topic heading with 'not that much lag'" wouldn't draw too much attention on the online rbi boards.
Does JNES use Kaillera as well? I'd assume it's the same network code, so it would be similar.
Like nomaaa said, it wasn't quite zero lag - everything was just a bit less responsive than playing locally (which I suppose is to be expected), and about once every half-inning I got a big lag spike that made everything choppy. We decided to play a 3-inning game because I am a lame old person who needed to go to bed, and we actually didn't make it through the three innings - the connection got out of sync and died with 1 out in the bottom of the third. SL (me) was ahead of Bo at the time, 11-9, with the tying run at the plate. I'm willing to chalk some of the problem up to my mediocre wireless signal in that room, but I'm not sure how much.

They both use Kaillera, which has been around for years, and used in Jnes for a long time.
