I made the one week quota, woo-hoo! The first thing you'll notice is the new title and little description above. This was done for two reasons - to help newcomers to the site know what we're all about and to help out with search engines. Having an opening graphic with "RBI Baseball" instead of using text has hurt me on google & yahoo. Hopefully this change will get me into the top 2 or 3 hits. This is important because Search Engines are pretty much the only way (outside of word of moutch) people find out about this site...
To the RBI Updates - Vince Coleman has taken a coaching job in the minors, Lipitz's profile picture has been changed (nice try Lips) and I added a great article on Julio Franco to the links page. Speaking of Lipitz, we've got a great video of him from 1992. It features a young Lipitz getting an interview on the local news channel. The best part is that he shares the segment with Rasheed Wallance and Donovan McNabb, both of whom were in high school at the time. McNabb, Rasheed and Lipitz - fucking scary...
I added another batch of music reviews this week - The Buzzcocks, Pinhead Circus, Public Image Limited,The Sonics and Teengenerate. Some very good records in this batch (and one awful one), so check them out. Still haven't cleaned up the interface, content wins out this week...
Keep those record reviews comin'. Singles Going Steady is the fucking shit. I love that album.
I hate Johnny Rotten. He's such a fucker. He still wishes he was Joe Strummer.
The Sonics have a couple of really, really good songs. The Witch is up there and I'm not sure if Psycho is on that album. A classic song from a so-so band.
I still can't get that video to work. All I get is pages of code or whatever.
You are probably using mozilla/firebird/firefox? Try right-clicking on the link and saving the video to your computer first. Sometimes mozilla does weird things with windows media files. Let me know if that works...
Yes, Psycho is on there, last track of side one. You know your music...
I am using Mozilla. I'll be sure and do that when I get home. I'm dying to see Lips and Rasheed. Gotta be classic. The picture is funny as it is.
I do alright. At least I try. Sounds like I need your record store in my neighborhood, though.
Be sure and get the newest version of Mozilla if you are on broadband, it always helps with such things. 1.6 is the newest and they have a 1.7 beta. For you, just make sure you are on 1.6. I'm 99% sure that a right-click, Save As will work in your case...
Cheap records are the bomb, there is nothing better. You listen to so much more music that you'd never try if you had to blow $14 on a CD. Most of the 70s & 80s rock I ended up liking (Pat Benatar, Blue Oyster Cult, Boston) came from a $1 bargain record...
The downside is that I rarely buy any new music. I'm having trouble spending $9.99 on a CD anymore let alone $14.99....
The new Main Page looks good, I like the little write-up that's now there.
