Title: Why Reggie Jackson Owes Me a New Desk
Post by: Re-Peat on 07/23/08, 02:36:44 PM
While playing in an online 2-game curve-pitch series, Reggie smacks THREE home runs off of my pitchers.

Now you're thinking to yourself that's not that special or crazy at all... except that I didn't pitch anything close to a strike.  I was trying to intentionally walk him each time and he still managed to get serious wood on the ball.  2 of the homers were ridiculously inside (trying to bean him really) and the other was outside and reggie managed to get power all the way across the plate.  Unreal.

When it happened for a third time, costing me the 2nd game, I slammed my fist on my desk so hard it splintered the wood at the joint.  Oops.

What if the series was tied 1-1?

We play 2 game series (so each Starter gets a game) and Krukow had already dumped the first, so I was trying to salvage the second to avoid a sweep.  It didn't work.

Seriously you don't know how to throw far enough outside so he can't hit it?

Of course I do.  Either my pitchers were too gassed to make the throws, or they didn't have enough right curve to get it outside.  That's why I had to use the left curve to take it inside, and he jacked those when they were square in the middle of the batter's box.
