Title: Here's to you, RBI Umpire.
Post by: japetus462 on 05/13/04, 11:12:31 PM
Often unnoticed and always ignored, the RBI Umpiring crew always delivers a stellar performance. They always make the right calls (execpt the Wallzie). I just wanted to take a moment to salute you, Mr. RBI Umpire, on a job well done.

Not to mention their amazing ability to shed twenty pounds when they call a foul ball or safe.  Then put it back on after the play is over...

They are definitely the best officiating crew in sports. They have no egos and are not biased in any way.
Good Job!

WTF?

They routinely miss foul/fair calls...the long "HR" that curves toward the pole, but is clearly on the fair side--but called foul?  >:(

(unless I'm pitching, of course, then it's  :D )

It would help if they would run out to the outfield to get a better look.  Plus it would make the game a lot cooler.  How fast would the ump be?

Outstanding thread japetus...the RBI umpires definitely don't get enough props.  The RBI umpire is A REAL AMERICAN HERO.

They do a damn good job considering they never turn their heads.

The umps are consistent with their good calls because I make the players fondle them on pop ups out of play.

To clarify a bit, Sperling and I typically move back and forth over the umpire on high foul balls.  Gives the 8-bit impression that we're screwing them...

I also tend to put my fielder right over the umpire.  That way when it's called foul, the arms look like they are coming out of my fielder...

Ah, how easily we are entertained...

I've always liked when the throw comes in to 2B from the OF and it bounces on the ump.  Don't know why, just always thought it was cool.

That's hilarious; I've been doing this since I was 12 or so!   :D

LOL I do the same thing. I call it doing the moose, since the ump's arms behind the player look like antlers.

I still like to have my player stand behind and to the right of the ump.  When he throws up his arms, it looks like he punches the player in the nuts.  Only problem is, if you move to far forward, it appears as though the umps hand gets stuck somewhere it shouldn't be.

Shot to the groin is always worth a chuckle to me, even on a video game!

Do you guys think they are consistent and always correct on ball/strike calls?
