Title: Santiago chasing Fisk.
Post by: erhajj on 05/18/04, 12:22:19 PM
CHASING FISK: Santiago caught his 1,890th game Saturday against the A's and reiterated this weekend his desire to catch Carlton Fisk as the all-time leader in games caught.

Santiago was given Sunday off. He's on pace to go over2,000 games by the end of the season. He's seventh on the all-time list now.

If Santiago can continue catching 100 games a year, as he's done since finding the fountain of youth in San Francisco in 2001, he would pass Fisk sometime during the 2006 season. He would be 41 years old.

Fisk, who played until he was 45, has the all-time record at 2,226 games caught in 24 seasons.

That was from the oakland Tribune.  It looks like we will have a RBIer aiming to play in the majors for a long time!

Erhajj, good to have you back.

There's no way Benny can stick around this long.  Is it really possible?  Are there that many bad catchers in the majors?

Thanks.  Good to be back.  I was in New Orleans for 2 weeks with my wife.

Benito is in great shape.  He has really changed himself around since his fateful car crash many years ago.

What's the latest on Benito and the roids?  I hate to think it might be leading to his resurgance...

He's definitely in great shape.  Could be because of hgh or steroids.

So how was Nawleans?  I hope you gained about fifteen pounds.  Shit, nevermind.  Just remembered you don't eat meat.

The big easy was nice.  My wife and I saw a lot of bands and had great fun.  I ran every morning along the river (execpt on morning I ran in the park by the zoo) and around the french quarter.  That was fine execpt one moring I was attacked by a swarm of bees and got stun 35 times.
At one point we were watching a cajun band and the washboard player pointed at my wife and pulled her on stage.  She got to play the washboard for 2 songs!!!  nice.

35 bee stings, ouch...  I hope you aren't allergic...

Never played much washboard, they didn't have that when I signed up for band in 5th grade...

At least he didn't ask her to play the skin flute.

35 bee stings?  Damn, you must have jogged over someone's graver or something.
