10 fav guys you loved having at-bats with
1. Mark McGwire- automatic HR at least once a game
2. Will Clark- best batter on my fav lineup
3. Tim Raines- leadoff, speed, & some pop
4. Matt Nokes- freak
5. Ellis Burks- speed + power... always hits it hard
6. Alan Trammell- most balanced RBI player
7. Eric Davis- underrated + loads of pop
8. Darryl Strawberry- unfortunately, not a lot of guys on base
9. Kevin Seitzer- not sure why/how but he's always been strong for me
10.Tony Gwynn- best ground ball hitter in the game
Chili chop your H-A-R-D ass down like a stupid redwood Davis.
Spike Owen...there's always that faint hope that something good will happen.
Reggie Jackson - good luck pitching to him
Spillman- simply clutch
Raines - 5 tool player
The Thrill - pure attitude
Chili - generic Raines
Bell - wow
Coleman - small ball
Speir - quietly sets the table
Krukow - movement with bite
Reushel - crazy movement
Tudor - sexy stuff
Vince Coleman - no pop, but the threat of a triple or in-the-parker is always fun to have
Tim Raines - awesome speed/power combo, my favorite all-around player in RBI
Jack Clark - the one chance at a homer when using SL
Ryne Sandberg - because he was my favorite player in real life
Tim Laudner - love the "all or nothing" factor
Alan Trammell - again, the speed/power combo
Dale Murphy - the big bat off the bench for the NL
Tommy Herr - I once had a 3-HR game with him, so I have unwarranted optimism when he comes to bat
Darryl Strawberry - another good all-around player
Tony Armas - the first player I discovered who was an awesome weapon off the bench
Mark McGwire - Uh, something about power & home runs.....
Ozzie Smith - You never know when he's gonna hit an over-the-fence home run. He may never, but as someone said before he's exciting to hit with for that reason. I've hit 2 over the wall HR with him in a 9-game "season."
Darrell Evans - Lefty power! Gargantuan home runs. Unfortunately that's all he has, he's pretty slow and grounds out alot, at least for me.
Bert Blyleven - Probably has the most or one of the most wicked curveballs in the game. Plus he's got more stamina than most other pitchers other than Clemens.
Reggie Jackson - Just like Darrell Evans, but seems to have a shitload more power! Everything he touches with the bat on a full swing goes flying!
Don Baylor - Tons of power plus he's very fast, seems to give me at least one homer per game.
Harry Spilman - Usually when I put him in he at least gets me a hit, but he's known for hitting LONG homeruns. Lots of power for those kinda stats.
Andre Dawson - Just like McGwire, amazing power, plus he's a bit faster on the bases.
well I'll list some more later.
10. eric davis (big pop and fast, though i don't play all star teams much)
9. darryl strawberry (the only reason i'll ever play with ny by choice)
8. jack clark (i play with st. louis a lot against my friends, and sometimes i find myself waiting 8 batters for him to come up again)
7. harry spilman (when i read about him on the dee-nee page, before i ever even looked at the forums, i began to love him)
6. reggie jackson (the man)
5. don baylor (probably the best all around guy on boston)
4. chili davis (always liked this guy since i was little. probably the name, plus we used to call my friend half-a-chili cause he was his favorite player)
3. jim rice (future hall of famer)
2. tony armas (pinch hitter extraordinare)
1. ellis burks (don't call me tim)
6. Charlie Kerfeld: Bastard is unhittable
5. Chili Davis
4. Reggie Jackson
3. Vince Coleman
2. Nolan Ryan: The guy just lasts forever and I usually do well with him in ATG
1. Rich Gedman "Destroyer of Dreams": I dominate my friend's Twins as Boston more than any other team. A few times, he's had a late lead. Enter Rich Gedman. He has tied the game or given me the lead in countless game, topped off by a walkoff grand slam with his team down 3 with 2 outs in the 9th.
0. This is cheating, but Tim Wakefield with his knuckler in my 2004 RBI mod I burned to a cartridge. Best closer ever. Has given up like 3 runs in 60 innings.

my list begins and ends with the aptly named "bookends"...
Tom Brookens
10. Harry Spilman. Hit the greatest homerun ever. Ask B.
9. Ellis Burks. Immediately replaces Spike or Barrett when I'm the Sox.
8. Candy Maldonado. Once hit 8 homeruns in a series. Completely unstoppable - and unexpected.
7. Tony Gwynn
6. Jose Oquendo. Responsible for one of my more memorable victories over B and Detroit, when he hit an inexplicable homerun in the late innings to give me a lead. "The impossible has happened."
5. Davidson. For whatever reason, I believe in this guy. And it really stings B when he does anything.
4. Eric Davis
3. Will Clark
2. Alan Trammel. I almost never get to play with the Tigers, but I've played against them enough to know this guy does not miss.
1. Darryl Strawberry
oquendo also was responsible for breaking up Nolan Ryans bid for his 8th no hitter with 2 outs in the ninth... And to this I say.. Fuck you jose
I figure I should chip in more than that...
10) Mike Heath-- there is no more professional hitter in the game
9) Rupert Jones-- I love putting him in...nothing but quality and pop
8) Trammell-- he's so fucking good
7) Bill Madlock-- the mad dog gets in there...larry herndon never sees the light of day
6) will clark-- I dont get to use him much....but whenever I do...its usually a bomb
5) Wally Joyner-- we went through a stretch where Joyner hit every single outside pitch out of the park or off the wall...t challenged him for an entire series and i think he went 15-18
4) D Evans-- He is a beast....
3) Jim Rice-- Ill never forget the series ending homer he hit against T to bring me back from a 3-1 deficit.... that series alone should get him into the hall
2) Gibby-- he just always seems to be clutch..above all others...except 1
1) Brookens....the man...the stache...the legend
