Title: Fantasy RBI V Official Rules, Divisions, and Official ROM
Post by: Darky on 04/05/09, 11:01:05 AM
Divisions:

Gantry

Sally Cunts
The OC of the Central Coast
Awesome Badasses
Fighting Cutlers
Pabst Blue Ribbons

DoveRBI

The Galactic Empire
The Rebel Alliance
The Fighting Feti
Unholy Legions Of Doom
Chocolate Rain

Playoffs:

- First place team in each division will receive a bye.
- Second and third place teams in each division will play a 7 game series.
- Divisional Championship Series will be a 7 game series
- The World Series will be a 7 game series.

Tiebreakers to decide Division Champions and Playoff teams:

Head to Head
Division Record
Run differential

Pitching:

- SP-SP-RP-RP
- No SP may start in consecutive games, and no RP may start a game
- The SP who does not start shall be slotted in the #2 slot in relief
- RP may be used in any order after the #2 slot

Position players:

- 3 OF, 4 INF, 1 C must start the game

Trades:

- Trades will be available from weeks 8-12

Schedule:

-22 games

-3 division games and  2 non-division games against each opponent.

Shall we split up the games into individual games?

I was thinking about a home and away series with division opponents, then play the third game towards the end of the season.
For non-division games, should I split it up? Or should we have a home and away 2 game series?

Here is the official ROM, take a look at it and let me know if changes are needed.

All the teams have a 5 for errors. National has 4 and American has 5 6 which is the two best in the game, so I took the number in between....5

Why is the number between 4 and 5, 5?

The Awesome Bad Asses is Alec.

Sorry, in the default... Na has a 4 for errors, and American has 6...so I took 5.

Attezz, I can find a replacement for you if you wish. The pitching rotation is not set according to your wishes. It's set for the integrity and high standard of the game.
A RP who comes in the 5th inning after the SP has pitched his 4 innings has no juice left by the 7th inning and possible the 6th. That's sloppy baseball and will not be allowed in the Fantasy league. I'm going by the default setup in Watch mode when their pitching rotation is set in the first game of a Watch series.

What about the home and away series people?

Also, for the Empire games, I will announce when I am going to play it, record the game on the rom and my video camera simultaneously, and show the time on my monitor and with dee nee time. I'll change windows to show that the game is live and totally random.

This should eliminate any doubt that I am playing God. If you wish to have the same done with your team for any reason, let me know.

The integrity of the Fantasy RBI will not be compromised in any way.

Never was it stated that you couldn't have a reliever start, in fact, several times you mentioned how I started to do better last year when I moved an RP to the starting slot.

Sure was Attezz. And I talked about this the other day as well.

Run differential?  Did you really put that as the #2 tie breaker?

You claim to be an NFL junkie yet you fail to recognize the NFL for their superb tie breaker rules, which very much apply to a short season such as ours.

Head to Head
Division Record
Record vs like opponents

It's a simple process that should never include run differential.

Good point. Amendment made except for the like opponents part. Run differential will be the last tie breaker.

I think I started a thread a while back asking exactly these questions.  I would bump it but I don't remember what it was called.  It was right before the Fantasy IV season.  I'll look for it...

We had teams for "jeopardy" in discussion section on friday, and I named my team "team boba fett" because I got tired of the younger kids naming us after pokemon every week (no I'm not kidding).

I got a bunch of blank stares.  Only the 30 year old in my class knew what I was talking about.  Fucking kids!

What the hell kind of discussion section are you in. I can't imagine anybody not knowing Boba Fett.

"Awesome Badasses" is an old inside joke amongst some friends of mine. I could change to "Indiana Jones' Fedora" or "Sean Connery's Chest Hair" or "Yob Tvoyu Maht" if you really want but I'm far too lazy to make a decisive decision on a better name.

Staying the fuck away from Star Wars names though with 2 here already.

ROM's for the season...updated.

I'll have to update them again soon since Ryno made a change to his lineup.

Remember, one rom has your SP with the lineup you submitted, and the other rom has your SP in the #2 spot.

For example, in the first rom I have Morris starting.
Morris
Cox
Orosco
Shiraldi

And in the second rom, Cox is starting...
Cox
Morris
Orosco
Shiraldi

Simple flip flop. And bear in mind that everybody else's ace will be in the #1 slot as far as the pitching rotation goes. You don't have to start your ace on opening day. You can elect to have your "ace" pitcher start the second game. Keep in mind that once the season starts, the starting pitching rotation will be set in stone...since pitchers cannot pitch in consecutive games.

Okay, now I am working on the schedule.

Opening day is looking good to go for next Sunday.

Do you waive the rights for your team?

If yes, then the team will be under league control and presented to other dee nee members. Then a vote will be tallied by the Galactic Senate and the Fighting Feti will be awarded to a dee nee member whose mangina does not have flare ups.

I was doing the schedule and quickly noticed that a 20 game season is not doable....

22 games it will be.

- 3 games each against division opponents
- 2 games each against non-division opponents

Hey, it's like college --- 2 games series to begin the week, then a conference 3 game set over the weekend.

Did you know that the University of Arkansas has what they call "The RBI Girls?"  They dance on the dugouts during hog baseball games.

They were even in the video game, MVP 2007.

I'm working on the schedule...trying to synchronize everything...ughhh

So far I'm tying to schedule individual games while divisional teams do not face the same pitcher 3 times and non divisional teams do not face the same pitcher twice...

we should do it series style. with 2 2 game series against division rivals and one 2 game series against interleague opponents

Schedule is almost complete. Just have to do 5 more weeks.

It will be mostly individual games, and just about everybody will not face the same pitcher 3 times in a divisional game, and 2 times in a non division game. Though there will be exceptions.

If somehow my schedule turns into chaos in scheduling the last 5 weeks, then I go ahead and take the easy road and do the 3 game series and 2 game series.

I'll have it done by the end of the week. If there are any lineup changes, let me know. I know I have to fix Re-Peat's bench and Miked/Nacho's uniforms...and I'm still waiting for TBT's lineup. So the final ROMs will be released on Friday with the schedule.
